tight

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

i'm planning on doing the same thing (i've got a few in the basement from my ddm days). one thing though, their bases are too small. the TWC are supposed to be on the dreadnought 60mm bases and the ddm ones they're supplied on are only about halfway between dreadnought and terminator bases. they're uncommon so i don't mind cutting them off (not too much resale value).

Were did you find the size that TWC bases are?
I know Canis is on a 60 so is that the standard?

officially, it doesn't say for the regular TWC what bases to use and they haven't come out with a model. the only TWC we have is canis and he's on the 60mm one. finally, chaos demon bloodcrusher cav (the only other similar unit in all of 40k) is also on 60mm bases. so no definite answer but the only evidence we have is towards the 60mm base. there isn't TOO much of a difference in the dire wolf he's using and the dread base so i'd be fine with that in a friendly game. i suggested it just because he might run into a problem and it's better to take care of it in the assembly/painting stage.

also, for anyone attempting the same conversion, he's technically using a vampiric (or vampire, can't remember which) dire wolf, not the standard dire wolf. they came out with 3 versions over the years and the one he pictured is the coolest looking IMHO. the first one comes on a smaller base (current termie sized) and is smaller. the last one is a bit to crouching for my taste.

ya im going to be outing them on the 60mm ones
just have to get some.

and there legs i cut at the hips and used green stuff to reangle them i dont know if im 100% on there legs atm
but with the size of the wolfs its hard to be much more with them other then chop the knee

One thing I cannot abide is the single pose on those wolf figs.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes...

i think its a good idea for an inexpensive stand in... if better wolf models arise it would be easy to switch the riders over, good job.
