115 Ravager(105)2xDisintegrator(10)

100 Talos(100)

This is a raider themed army I plan to work as follows:
Ravagers are to engage heavy units such as terminators, if the ravager needs to move then disintegrators are fired as defensive weapons
Raiders running over enemy infantry and shooting at enemy tanks
Raider squads can either hitch a ride or move slowly towards an objective and have assault weapons and agonizer to dispatch enemys
Archon is to get into close combat ASAP and kill all in his path(Go Incubi!)
Wyches are aimed to target enemy assault troops hopefully engaging before they are shot down
Talos is there just to fun and wreck havoc, will either become a killing machine or absorb a lot of fire power as its blown apart

also its only 6 dark lances as i opted for the disitegrator for their AP value to kill marines and the blasters in squads so they can move and kill

slave snares are more for fun than their actual value(got to have the gruesome mentality to even play Dark Eldar)

being a raider army i didnt bring fast attack, the bikes seem good but im not sure if they are cost effective, any ideals on them?

Some people see the glass as half full, some people see the glass as half empty, I'm the guy that relieved myself in the glass.

Looks quite good.
But I'd opt against the slave snares.
Too many points spend for wargear on paper-thin transports.
Give the Raider 'fexes if you like to counter weapon-destroyed results.

Greetings,

Good to see an old Archon dusting off his Tormentor Helm and placing it firmly atop his head once more as he heads to battle. I'll bounce through your list unit to unit and see what changes 5th has wrought for you. Hope these help. Before we begin I think the first warning to be stated loudly is that with new movement and skimmer rules Gunboats are not what they once were and Raiders are easier to destroy then ever (I mention this later because I see you use a lot of slave snares - great when everything was glancing, harder now when a quick barrage from two bolt pistols can destroy us)

Danger Will Robinson, danger! Okay, first off Gruesome Talismans do nothing in this edition, so you can save points by dropping them. In addition, since the Gruesome Talismans do nothing you can also save a lot of points by dropping the Incubi Master, as he's only there for the GTs. I have mixed feelings about Slave Snares, but I'll concede it's a matter of preference. The same goes for Dissy upgrades to Raiders, but I suspect by the time I get down to your Ravagers I'll find piles of Dark Lances. The ability to still use a retinue is a great advantage for DE and one I shall miss in 2048 when the codex is updated. I will caution that without the old ability to consolidate into new squads you may find this squad too good at killing and thus find it out in the open being shot up with small arms fire - which Incubi and Shadowfields do not like.

Considering the range your Raider Squads will operate at I might suggest a Destructor, but I've noticed people get attached to their personal Haemy build and I'm just trying to sell you on mine because I think it kills more reliably.

Holy cow, I thought I was the only one who ever ran Assault Boats! Be more careful then ever about what you assault with these guys, as combat has become quite deadly if you can't dish out a lot of wounds fast. That said these will be excellent as Gunboats that can assault and claim objectives in the endgame. The same goes for the squads with Haemy in them.

Gruesome Talismans you now know about. The idea of taking Wyches without Agonisers or Wych Weapons is now something I know about. I'm guessing you once used these as throwaway tarpit units with the potential to sweep via outnumbering? With the new combat resolution rules I think you'll find them to be less survivable in this configuration and with the lack of the Talismans. I'd probably advocate adding Agonisers and Wch Weapons - at which point they can return to being excellent tarpitters because they'll start equalling/exceeding the damage output of their opponents to allow them to sweep. I usually save points by running less then ten Wyches, as you only seem to need eight or less most of the time (it depends on how big a squad you tend to like to let your Wyches charge). It is very popular to add in 2x Blasters now too, which will let your Wyches shoot up their opponents before charging in and will help generate some extra MEQ kills and allow them to potentially threaten armor as a pseudo gunboat if you so need it.

100 Talos(100)

I'm glad you noted the Talos was fun and am happy to see you running some Vects even though I think you probably need more dark matter in your list. Remember, for killing MEQ in the current play environment, you're probably going to have to pop their armored transports because everyone is in armored transports nowadays (heck, even Orks). That's where the DLs and Blasters will serve you well and why I offer a cautionary warning to fielding so few Lances in 2000 points. Consider what your list would do if faced with 3-4 Ork Battlewagons (heck, I field 3 at 1850) or 3 Landraiders. At 2000 you'll need an option to deal with multiple AV 14 targets.

My usual RJB build is a minimum squad with two blasters. I can turboboost with them to generate alpha strike options on enemy armor turn 1 (they then usually die the next shooting phase) They are a cheap distraction unit that is pretty good at popping armor. They can also be good paired with a RJB riding Lord equipped with a Punisher and TOrmentor helm (yes, we can use a Punisher on a RJB now) with Drugs his strength goes through the roof and the RJBs serve as ablative wounds and extra oomph in combat. Fun squad, fairly fragile though (though what DE unit isn't?).
