So I was just wondering, If you had a choice between

A: Paying full price

and

B: Getting a discount but having to wait 2 Weeks for your stuff

How much of a discount would want before you would wait for your stuff.

I have to wait anyway, might as well save as much as I can.

Generally getting a discount means buying online, which I don't like to do, so I pay full price.

Gathering the Informations.

You fail to note that most FLGSes incorporate some form of "members" styled discount system, much like some online retailers do. However, the discount won't be as much.

Buying online always entails a wait and usually provides a discount too, though sometimes P&P fees eat into that.

I buy a lot of stuff online not specifically for the discount but simply because there is much better selection than in the high street.

I also buy from local retailers when convenient, if I want something quickly or it's an impulse buy.

For me there isn't a trigger point at which I decided to buy online just because of discount..

The place i order at is 30% off ( but customer pays shipping) , waiting is around 2 weeks.

Its the best i can find , of course 50% would be nice , but i dunno anywhere that offers that.

Buying GW stuff in NZ or Australia you get ~30-40% off the store price for ordering from most online places simply due to the exchange rates and the fact that the online places are UK or US based (and GW stores here are obviously not adjusting their prices to match the changing exchange rates). On top of that stores in NZ are tiny and don't carry huge amounts of stock so unless I'm getting paints or need a specific sculpt I will always order online. Sure you will always have to wait 2-3 weeks (although I did get some stuff from the UK within a week once), but at that kind of discount I'm willing to wait.

For me, I find that I can't even start working on things the day that I purchase them anyway, so a couple weeks to wait isn't really that big of a deal.

For books, and modelling supplies, I like to pick those up at the FLGS so I have them right when I need them.
