This situation happened in an Apoc game we were in last night, and just wanted to see if there was a line in the rules or FAQ I was missing that clearified the situation.

10 Marines attempted to dump out of a Drop Pod behind my Fire Prism to bolter it's rear armor. Due to scatter of the Pod, and their positions afterwards 5 marines were in the rear arc and 5 marines were in the side arc.

We diced it off to determine the arc, was this a good decision or is there a rule to cover this situation?

BRB pg. 60, right above the diagram.

Resolve shots per model.

dice off is never an appropriate solution, IMO.

you can't both be right, and dice off legitimizes both answers.

This is how I originally offered that it should be resolved, and was shot down.

Glad to know I was right. :-)

If you've had more than 30 seconds of arguing with someone who you know is wrong and won't budge an inch regardless of Codex or BRB evidence, then dice off is a good way to keep the game moving and save some unnecessary pain imo.

If it keeps happening? Well then maybe that's not the best person to play with in the first place.

I would have just divided them per model. Which according to BGB pg 60 is what to do

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

I agree with divide per model.
Dicing off is for rule argument that take too long and instances where there's really nothing clear about the situation.
