Hey gang, just got back from the wild west shootout. I had a great time despite my trepidations about the missions (which were wonky to say the least) But all other aspects of the tourney were handled exactly how I would have handled them myself... but more on that later...

For now, here are the top three winners, scroll down to see their lists

First Place- Allan "Blackmoor" Hernandez (foot eldar)

Second Place - Doug Reyes (dual lash)

Third Place - Cody Voorhes (salamanders)

And before you go into too much analysis on Blackmoor's list, his generalship gives him a hard edge. It might just boggle your mind how a list like that can win through a hard field, but he manages to find a way. He went through an all drop pod space wolf army with dreadnoughts in game one, he managed to accrue a lot of VPs against my 13 vehicle mechvet list in a tie against me in game 2. Beat someone I forget in round 3, then beat a mech eldar list on a mission where the table was absolutely clear of terrain, and then beat an undefeated librarian lead drop pod/land raider space marine army in a 5 objective seize ground. I wouldn't call his competition soft by any stretch.

I'll be back later to provide some more feedback on the tourney, but i wanted to get these finishers and their lists up for everyone to discuss.

Yeah, congrats to all of them! I lost game one to Cody, but it somehow eases the sting of an early loss to see that person end up on the award podium.

I thought that a jetbike Warlock "accompanied" a squad of guardian jetbikes, meaning it would have to be min. unit size 4 to have one? The unit entry says "Consists of 3 to 12 Guardian Jetbikes" and last I checked the Warlock on a jetbike isn't an upgrade character, just another member to throw in the squad, and is certainly not a "Guardian Jetbike." That would make the #1 list illegal. I may be wrong though.

How many points was the tournament? 1850? I hope we get some battle reports from you guys.

1750.

I've gotten a couple requests to do a write-up. I'll work on chronicling my journey tonight. Blackmoor usually always writes up his tourneys, so hopefully we'll see a set of batreps from him.

I am gonna do mine as well once I am feeling a bit better. They will probably somewhat resemble Homer Simpson's chili hallucinations (The merciless peppers of Quetzlzacatenango! Grown deep in the jungle primeval by the inmates of a Guatemalan insane asylum.) cause that is pretty much where I was...

Blackmoor is a really good general. He and I used to game in the same circle and he always did very well.

Kudos to him on the win! Gives me faith that my foot Eldar army is not just a fluke.

Thanks for the write up, Shep.

Congrats, Blackmoor! We would all really love to read some batreps from you, once you've got the time to write 'em up.

Yes blaockmoore is a good player. I was also surprised with the marine list. That chaos list is tough and very durable.
