I never liked the Necron fluff.
Basically because the C'Tan are a bunch of sad Chaos God rip-offs.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it. |

There really not a ripoff, if you think about it there on the other side of the spectrum of evil, heartless cold they mess with the mind and soul than with physical attributes such as disease, lust for blood and other stuff like that.

Uhm... the Soul exists within the warp, so the C'Tan are unable to affect it. And I think you seriously underestimate the psychological/spiritual aspect of Chaos. It's a lot more in depth than that of the C'Tan. Aside from the Nightbringer being scary, I can't think of any real power in that area. Chaos makes people go insane when they learn too much about it. People are unable to try and fight against deamons much of the time, because they embody too much splendor, despair, attractiveness, deception, etc, (and you're compelled to attack Khornate daemons, a lot of the time). They're very much made out of concepts that mess with the mind.

Necrons are far from indestructible. Severe damage, particularly that inflicted by energy or heat, can utterly destroy their body, and serious damage might be too much for the Tomb Spyders to repair anyway.
|
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

They seem to lack the speed and combat ability of Space Marines as well. I'd say they have some decent weaknesses, although some of their stuff is a little silly.

We are talking fluff here.. Besides they can phase through crap and all that
along with that the ultimate of the cytan is the machine god on mars and emperor forbid if he ever wakes up.. Maybe he's just lazy and just snacking on tech priest or some thing
For some reason they don't go berserk on Nids which makes no sense and don't you give me that soul jibber jabber because I really doubt 1 cell organisms have souls
(Note I don't know if this is true) And apparently if all monoliths are destroyed then the cytan if they are slain in combat will go back into their pure energy forms..

The only way to destroy a C'tan would be to destroy its 'essence' as it escaped from its body, something nobody knows how to do.

The deceiver can drive people insane, but the fact is GW needs to make more fluff about the ctan, i mean theres bearly 4 pages about it and most of its repeating.

The Nightbringer can affect the soul, before he went to 'sleep' he was able to implant his visage on all the mortal races at the time as the very essence of death itself.

I love necron fluff! But remember that only low damages can be autorepaired; heavy damages need to be repaired on a necron tomb, so they teleport to them. If you destroy all necron tombs with bombs (like in the story of the necrons' codex), thay couldn't be repaired and you'll be able to destroy them (sending their wrecks into black holes or into the Warp, for example).

Well, everything is indestructible within its fluff.
Spacemarines armor repels any shots.
Necrons always reform.
Etc.
So basicly, the fluff is what Legends are made out of, and not the actual things. As my space marines seem to die far to much, and my necrons never reform.

Well one thing to consider is that Necrons have a grand total of 1 book of fluff. How many do Chaos have? Anyway, I for one am very interested in seeing what GW does with necron fluff in the new codex... (due some time in 2095)
EDIT: Whoops... guess this thread made its WBB roll?

Don't be fooled. The Necrons were made so that the Imperium can fight Egyptian T-800 Terminators. John Conner will find his way through the time line and save humanity. End of File LOL.
