Now I'm doing a new miniature, this time in a big scale, about 90
mm.
This is a space marine figure, from Inquisitor
GW game.
I think this is a beautiful miniature, with many possibilities to make a good conversion.
I want to represent a Space Marine Chaplain (but as you can see, I change this original idea) with a crozius weapon and a lot of "mini" details, like chains, books...
The base is an old chapel, a perfect mix between the elder times and the futuristic ages.
STEP 1
STEP 2
I show you the paint of the terrain.
In this step, the stained glass window is not painted yet, and I want to paint it with another color (different from the stone one); maybe I'll use metallic colors... and maybe I'll put colored glasses on it, as we can see in gothic style churches.
One person said me that the head of this miniature is very generic, and I'm agree with him. In my original idea I decided to model with green stuff a helmet... but a bold head it's very good too...
STEP 3
Well... the original idea was a Black Templar Chaplain... but I decided to change it. Why? Because I prefer the ultramarines and because... I haven't got Black paint!! Nooooo!!!
That's why I decided to change the scheme color for the miniature. And I must say that it isn't so bad!
The terrain is stop yet, but I paint the servorarmour this time. First of all I paint the head...
HEAD
Usually we see bold space marines (and I take this idea thanks to Jarhead!), because their hair has been cut. I decided to paint the veins on his head, because they are a modified soldiers, and I think in Darth Vader's head.
I think that is a good option, perfect to change the viewer opinion about this space marines. They must think... "oh! They are half human, half... something!" Jajajajaa!!
I painted it with a lot of colors, and it isn't finished yet.
SERVOARMOUR
Now is time for the armour of the marine.
I want to represent an armour with damages, but not a lot. You can see these scratches on it... and maybe I'll put more.
Now you can see all the details that I modeled: a book, the crozius (weapon), clothes... I think they are very representative of this baroque universe.
*ERROR*
Oops! A chaplain must have a black servoarmour... I don“t know!!
That's why I decided to change the name of this work and decided to put an Ultramarines' captain running with a chaplain's crozius. But why? Aaahhh... this will have to be complete by the viewer!
STEP 4
Finally the original terrain concept, the recreation of an old cathedral, very romantic and inspirational, has been finished.
I'm very happy, because I do the mix between the futuristic universe of the W40K and the details of the medieval ages. A perfect fusion of these different times.
As you can see in the pictures, I paint the stained glass window with metal colors, but I decided to put the broken glasses without color. Why? Because I want to show the main character of the scene, the blue ultramarine warrior. Nothing must disturb to the viewer.
I put some details, like the leaves and the candles, to get a religious and sacred scene. Years of battle doesn't erase the memory of the Humanity's Emperor.
The miniature is in the same painting process like the day before, and tomorrow (maybe) I'm going to finish it. I want to make a shield for the right hand, to make a simil between the medieval knights and the space marines (both of them were in cathedrals, no?).
Ah! And I want to put a cable in the ear of the marine.
I hope you like it!
Be happy!
