You'll be doomed to a rules debate if they come within 6" of a teleport homer! Doomed, I say. (I think locator beacons are okay, though.  )

other than the fact that you will be slowing down all those assault marines, or wasting that movement you get with the jump-pack, as a unit moves at the speed of its slowest model iirc (don't cite me on this, I'm just pretty sure its the case)

I would have to say no it doesn't matter, your terminators can deepstrike, your Chaplin can deepstrike so he can join the unit and the whole unit can deepstrike in some bizzare jump pack/teleporting joint operation.

Exactly, there is no rules issue preventing this. Nowhere does it state that all DSing models of a unit must receive their ability to DS from the same source.
