MY FLGS is going to be starting a slow grow league so I was am thinking of trying to use the Cryx battle box and some extras to try and make a list that will be effective at the first two points values.

mm, deathjack at 350, not really my Cup of tea...

I would drop him and take a slayer. Then add a unit of mechanithralls. In 500 I would add Nightmare (who has a great synergy with Denegrha IMHO) or deathjack. Keep the thralls though. They can wreck debuffed jacks very easily and provide a few bodys worth of protection for the caster...

Other then that I would say ask if the leageu will run MKII. The rules are downloadable and that way you can learn the rules that will officially be used pretty soon in advance....

It is kind of odd they are running MKII core rules but keeping MKI stats and points though there are some rough confusing edges to that we all feel it is better to get the new people into the new rule set instead of having them learn MKI for two months and then switch.

Alot of the other players seems to want to run alot of infantry and reading on the death jack makes me think he is the perfect solution to that as well as being a hard as nails heavy.

At this point, I'd suggest waiting for the Hordes MKII release and running with all MKII rules. I ran into a similar problem -- I wanted to run a grow league in late Sept / Early Oct. Then PP gave us the Final rules early and announced that they would do the MKII hordes test in Nov instead of Jan.

At that point, it made sense to wait 6 more weeks and just go all MKII.

I hope it works out for you, and I look forward to the league.

However, My post has been hijacked and I would like to get it back on track.

Do either of you have any thoughts on the lists I posted should I trade out some of the stuff I listed for infantry as it seems Infantry is the way to go with the exception that jacks seem to be better in MKII than they are in MKI?

If you're buying these to play this campaign then keeping MkII in mind I would suggest the following changes.

350: Deathjack should be swapped for Nightmare (especially if you're using Deneghra) swap a Deathripper for a Defiler and spend the remaining points on Gorman di Wolfe.

500: Don't take a second Pistol Wraith until you've tried them in MkII. You may not think they're worth the points spammed. Instead of what you have chosen take a Stalker and a minimum unit of six Bane Thralls.

In a months time your 500 point list will be 29 points of a 35 point list. I'd drop the Pistol Wraith, fill out the Bane Thralls to ten and take a Slayer.
