I do not own a Necron codex. I understand what Veil of Darkness does, but I cannot find whether it is a psychic power or not??

Yep, Shas'O is right.

The necrons HATE psykers and the warp with a passion. This dates back to when the Old Ones made the races to fight the C'Tan. Indeed some speculate that the C'Tan are the ones who put the pariah gene into humanities genepool thus creating culuxes (spelling?) assasins & the necron pariahs but that's really deep in fluff, just FYI.

It's also why the Tyranids avoid the Necrons so heavily - C'tan and Necrons in general seem to emit an "anti-warp", something the Tyranids - all of which are highly psychic - absolutely hate.

Or, more simply, that the necrons provide little to no biomass (flayed ones?) and as such the tyranids have no use expending energy to consume them

Tyranids Eat everything, not just biomass.

In any case, the C'Tan and the Hive Mind are anathema to each another, so rarely cross paths.

Imagine Pariahs all up in your shizznall with Tyranids? Man, tyranids have like a billion models that are psykers, Ld tests all over the place.
