hi generals,

i am new to this forum and having left my space wolves almost 2 years ago to play with TAU i find myself trying to catch up with marines...needless to say, SW have and always are the closest army to my heart so having them back via the new codex just makes me excited as a kid on his way to disneyland!!

my question (which i tried to find through other treads, but was unsuccessful) relates to the JotWW, more specifically to damage result this causes if successful.

in the codex it says that any model hit by the straight line that fail the initiative test is removed from play...

now my question is,

1- is just the model that is hit by the line or the entire unit that is removed in the eventuality we are looking at a more than one model unit?

2- if it is just the model under the line, ie not the whole unit, can the defending player decide which model from that unit to remove of he is stuck with the particular model that failed the test?

1) It removes a model. Unless there is only one model in the unit, or every model int he unit is hit AND fails the test, the unit will remain.

2) No, THE MDOEL FAILING THE TEST IS REMOVED. This is NOT a wound therefore you do not follow the wound removal process, meaning literally the exact model that failed is removed.

Mah FAQ, Read it

1) It is only the model hit.
2) No, the Space Wolf Player gets to pick.

so i can t pick a particular model, say and IC in a unit??/ :(

You draw a line, if that line hits a model, that model takes a test. If you hit an IC, or a special weapon, that model must pass the test or is removed.

If you are the Space Wolf Player, you can. The Space Wolf Player decides who makes the test.
