So my buddy says that an IG army consisting of 3 squads of 10 Ogryn wouldn't be completely amazing. I on the other hand think it would simply put everything else to shame. I mean, yeah, you can't fit all of them into chimeras, but you DO get a tough unit with ripper guns for 90 shots and 41 attacks at S6 on the charge. Against a gun-line army? well thats what the two mandatory troop choices are for. just take 2 units of heavy weapon squads with Lascannons and toss in a commissar somewhere under a barrel or behind a tree etc.

Pop those tanks and send in the Ogryns!

I think you have no idea of how to build a competitive IG army.

Its probably more competitive than Tom Cruise with an eye patch.

But, I agree, there is a reason Ogryn heavy armies aren't winning the tournaments. But, if you think it's cool go for it, seriously. An army that you want to play is much better than the strongest list. Because it is built around your ideas and play style.

I would probably stick some cheap troops in front of them to give them a cover save. Because they will not reach that gunline you're talking of crushing. Also maybe a Creed to make one outflank and surprise them. It's not the best army in the world, but it's also not the crappiest.

Another idea would be to put those cheaper troops into chimeras and make a wall in front of the Ogryns as well.

I would seriously try this out in a proxy game before rushing out and buying heaps of Ogryn. Ogryns are not an effective tank hunter, but that doesn't mean they can't kill tanks. Just watch out for Monoliths and Land Raiders.

HiveMind your just pissed that people dont like your idea. Yes that build would make for some head crumpin, but that list wuold be to easy to counter. The first time not knowing what you have, yea you would do alot of damage, but after that most players could counter it. I would just throw as many boyz at you (or ghaz lol) as it took.

wow, wow is all I can say.. Ok so one guy tried to be nice but the rest are just biting.. I mean this was a joke. The ogryn alone would be like 600 dollars, alone! To all that took this serious he also posted about some other dumb stuff for to argue about. This is a sad statement of the wg community if yall don't see the joke in this. Wow he bet me that yall wouldn't be so dumb and but I guess I owe him money now thanks alot. Just wait for his commissar list and future dumb lists...

Well the problem with what your saying is....... there ARE people that make lists like this.

You see the fact he keeps posting these "joke" threads and then attacking the responses tell me he's a trollin and your an accomplice.

1. While not trolling, it is inciteful. So it will be permitted BUT, posts attacking other posters will lead to thread closure and potential disciplinary action.

Lets remember Rule #1 people. Attack the argument, not the poster. Attacking the poster will lead to disciplinary action, and clouds up the issue so that trolls can't be spotted as easily.
