Hey guys,

just thought I would share my new project with you all. I have been painting Imperial Guard for about 3 weeks now, and really liked the camo scheme for the 122nd Cadian. However I like adding my own touch to this army aswell so decided to customise the uniform look slightly.

Let me know what you think guys, as no one gets anywhere without constructive criticism.

Many thanks for taking time out to look

Very blue at the moment, but assume there is some camo pattern to come. Not sure about the legs on the sentinel. Very striking look anyway.

Incidentally, if you want to stay sane painting Guard, may I recommend gluing the arms on before you start? Yes, you will miss the odd tiny patch of uniform underneath the arm, but nobody is going to see it.

I have added more pics of the Sgt. to show camo scheme. Thanks for tip on putting together model first with arms before painting... Will try it out with the next squad as all this squads arms are painted up and ready

I got my sentinel painted up over the past few day's. Just got to add all the detail to it, so it is pretty much still W.I.P...

C&C Welcome.

That's a very good winter camo on the Sentinel.

I approve of this camo, my recommendation would be to either darken that blue with some black, or tone down the intensity with gray/grey. Perhaps before painting the black white and grey/gray camo pattern that you have, dry brush a 2:2:1 mix of yer blue, codex gray and chaos black respectively.

As if on cue, you hear two people singing from the stairwell, and the door is opened and a pair of very smelly, very dirty guardsmen stumble in, completely drunk, and covered in vomit, and immediately collapse unconsious on the porch. You drag them to their beds, realising that they will not be waking up for some time.

I agree with Red9- darken down the blue a bit, otherwise the only place you'll be camouflaged is in a swimming pool!

Also, try adding a couple of bluey-grey stripes. This will provide a halfway stage between your blue and black stripes. The ones you have are ok, but try to have some more variation. Checking out some real-life camo should show you what I mean.

Thanks for the input guys... As far as the brightness of the blue is concerned, it is courtesy of the flash and camera...

In real life the sentinel is a near version of your comments. Not so bright! I like the idea of adding more camo stripes as a half way mark between blue and black tho... Kind of a Space Wolves Grey perhaps?
