Dread and termies run up the field shooting stuff. Thats pretty much the basic tactic. Any suggestions on stuff to improve? C&C most welcome. Thanks in advance!

Drop the termies, add another dread and with the left over points get some HB attack bikes.

You might want to convert this into a dread n Bike list, its got potential.

Terminators will get owned if you foot slog them. Get yourself a land raider, or you will be putting the termies back into the box on the first round in every game.

Hmm, how will the termies be owned? Very little small arms fire has a range longer than 24".

The only way I would run termies across the table is put Shrike with them, and infiltrate them, and have a large squad of say 10 termies. 5 w/ LC, and 5 w/TH,SS.

that way, you can infiltrate, and get fleet of foot. you should only get shot at 1 or 2 turns before you are on them.

If you deploy them on table edge against me, I am going to shoot all long range weapons (ap1) at your unprotected 40 point models.

Ok, so youd rather waste a ap1 shot on a termie than on a dread. I can live with that.

This list is unfocused, you need to choose Bike army or Mech army, Or Shrike, bike hybrid.

Well, lets just do the math here. These termies are 48 points a piece based on your list.

Lets say I park a predator in cover and get 3 shots on your termies with no cover. We are talking about 3 lascannon shots, one being TW.

On average, I will kill 2 to 3 models a round with that setup, A predator costs 190 points, I get my points back in 2 rounds for sure and the termies will have killed nothing.

Now, if you put the same termies in a land raider, the land raider is liable to draw fire from the predator, and probably another heavy option as well. I have maybe a 30% to pop it by pouring several hundred points into it. you run your dreadnoughts behind the land raider and you have a 14 armor shield that can pop smoke, and your termies arrive intact and able to assault right out of the thing. Thats basically an 18 inch range (move 12, deploy 2, and assault 6.

If you insist on not taking them in a land raider, I would deep strike them behind enemy lines.

I only say this because I have watched my awesome group of termies get hung out after wiping out a unit in assault, and get wasted with small arms fire.

lol, if you say that you are "going to do the math" then maybe you should try and do it remotely correct?
Firstly, parking a predator in cover so that you can shoot all 3 lascannons without granting the termies a coversave on their own seems nigh impossible. Secondly your math is way of. You will certainly not kill 2 termies on average much less 3. On average you will kill 1.2 Termies assuming no cover. Which is unlikely. A more realistic value is 0.93 termies/turn.

So now you have spent 3 lascannons on taking out 45ish pts of termies, next turn your predator can expect a barrage of MM shots since you didnt shoot the rhinos nor the speeders. As I said before, thats a trade Im willing to do any day of the week.

All this said I will probably go for 2x Vindicators instead of the termies.

Well, the Termies are not bad in this list.
If the enemy shoots the Termies, the fire will be drawn away from the other units.

Exactly, thats why the only thing I want them to avoid is a hail of small arms fire. So against for instance against a bladestorming DA squad I would be in trouble. A lascannon shot directed against my termies is on weapon less directed against my armour.
