Just double checking with people on this one:

So the Null Stone entry states that no magic items within 6" of the bearer will work. That would suggest to me to include Dispel Scrolls and Powerstones. Am I correct in this thinking? If so, I can see this being a pretty devious item.

Yes you are correct. I have recently been thinking of using this Item in a few lists. Pitty it wont stop Daemonic "items."

Aye. Yeah, I've been looking at this thing for a bit trying to come up with a good way to build a list around it. I'm starting to think a magic-centric list with a Null Stone Prince mage-hunting could be interesting.

there was a list, Nullstone was the answer to summonhorde.

Lord with Null Stone on dragon or Griffon.
Army made up primarily of spearelves in deep formations (for max zombie loss).

Old summonhorde worked by securing a unit of zombies with plenty of necros in it capped with a another unit.

With a large flying monster you can flank and then chasrge the carrier unit. Normally the undead player wont care as he absorbs the hits, but now you are shutting down cold all his necros and they cannot leave combat.

Crunchtime.

Doesnt work as well with the new Vampire Counts book and no other army list benefits. This is partly because of cost and partly because an elf lord is only good with items. If Null stone could be taken by something interinsically powerful like a chaos lord things would be a lot lot different.
