Hey, I was wondering. If I want to include Asdrubael Vect is a Dark Eldar army, do I have to have it painted as the Kabal of the Black Heart? I want to have a converted "space skaven" army, and I would like to be sure if I could use him in it.

Thanks.

Asdrubael Vect no more requires you to change your army's paint scheme than using Space Wolves requires that the marines are painted bluish gray. You might get the occasional comment about why your cabal isn't painted in the "right" colors, though, so I recommend becoming well practiced in eye rolling.

Colour is the LEAST of his concern. Didn't you hear him say "Space Skaven"?

Haha, i doubt you will get any comments. Most players haven't played against dark eldar much. Most players don't even know what the different dark eldar weapons look like. Pretty easy to model something when if someone says it's not wysiwyg when you can just say "Oh yeah? What do YOU think an agonizer looks like?" I doubt most dark eldar players even know the colour scheme for the black heart kabal, let alone non DE players. I bet most people don't know you need to play a 2000 point army to include asdrubael vect either. The codex is old, doesn't make sense, and no one has read it. You can kinda skirt over some of that stuff with the special characters.

It really doesn't matter which colour you paint him imo, he could be pink, but he would still be Asrubael.

And if you are on the subject of painting things different colors......

Why not paint the slave girls green, no man can resist a sexy green slave girl!

You should see my Daemonettes. I'm bound to get some comment on how they aren't painted in the 'right colours. So it dosen't matter what colour it is as long as you like it.

I'm sure that using Hrud would work fine. No biggie.

I think you and I both know the odds of someone seeing your DE army, and knowing what the Cabal colors are is pretty low.

I think the odds of someone seeing a DE army and knowing which model is Asdrubael Vect is pretty low. I still have to explain that the Ravagers have three guns and the Raiders have one to players at tourneys.
