-3 Snottling Pump Wagons: PW
-2 mages with foot of gork, Squad 2, and 3
-1 hero with the headbutt ring, Squad 4

-2 bolt throwers: BT
-4 savage orc squads: Orcs

High Elves
-Chariot Mage with Seer Staff and Power Stone, Unseen Lurker, Shades of Death: CM
-Korhil, as General in Sword Masters
-15 Sword Masters with full command, Champion with Armor of Caledor: SM
-20 Spearmen, full command, war banner: SP
-5 Shadow Warriors: SW

SW SM SP CM

1st turn HE:
Movement - The Chariot moves up 9 inches toward the bolt thrower, Spearmen move towards savage orc squad #3, Sword Masters move up towards Orcs1
Magic - The Chariot gets a 15 on Unseen Lurker, he fails to dispel, I declare a charge on bolt thrower 2, which flees leaving me a sitting duck right in front of the Boar boys.
Shooting - I fire at the first Bolt thrower and am out of range. . .

1st turn Orcs
Animosity: The boar boys of course roll a 1, and squabble protecting my precious chariot.
Compulsory Move: Pump Wagon 3 charges my Chariot, I flee and almost go off the board, missing it by like a 1/4 inch, Pump wagon 1-2 move abiout 7 inches towards my SM
and Spearmen respectively.
Movement - Orcs 1-2, Walk a few inches forward, Orcs 3-4 change facing a bit to get better lines on my Spearmen, Rally the Bolt Thrower Crew
Magic - Foot of Gork to kill a few sword masters, 2nd one is dispelled, headbutt smacks Korhil for a wound. . .
Shooting - Bolt thrower 1, kills like 3 spearmen with a 6, which he will repeat like 8 times during the game. . .

2nd turn HE:
Movement - Rally the Chariot, Sword masters march to about 8/2 inches from Orcs1, Spearmen march forward to engage the Orc 4 next turn.
Magic - Chariot fails to caste Unseen Lurker, Charging straight into the Pump Wagon
Shooting - wiffs on the toughness 5 Boar Chariot

2nd turn Orcs
Animosity - Orcs 1, & Orcs 2 back up to keep me just out of charge range from my sword masters,
Orcs 3, Orcs 4, and the Boars all roll 6's and position to get a double flank and front rank charge on the spearmen ouch. . .
Compulsory Move - Pump Wagon charges the Chariot
Movement - Orcs 3, Orcs 4, and the Boards all charge the poor spearmen. . .
Magic - Gork will fix it gets cast through my dispel dice, giving the front attackers strike first. . .
Shooting - Bolt throwers shoot at Sword masters killing 2
Close Combat - Pump Wagon wiffs its impact hits making it lose badly and flees hitting another Orc squad, Orcs smash my spearmen badly, I got like 17 hits but 0 wounds!!!,
I lose and get caught, boars walk off with my banner. . .

3rd turn High Elves
Movement - Chariot advances to hit the pump wagon next turn, Sword Masters move close enough to the orcs to force 1 of them to charge next turn.
Magic - I caste Unseen Lurker with irresistable force, charges the pump wagon with a great angle to hit the next Orc if I win. . .
Shooting - More wiffs to wound the boar chariot.
Close Combat - Impact hits overrun the Pump Wagon, I overrun into an Orc squad

4th turn Orcs
Animosity - Boars sit there and look stupid nothing else
Movement - Orcs 1 have to charge my Sword Masters hitting at a funky angle so I get to move to the right if I win, Orcs 3 & 4 reform so their facing the right direction.
Shooting - Can't
Close Combat - Chariot Kills like 4 with impact hits and 2 more with angry horses, I win and over run through the squad, hitting the orcs.
Sword Masters also kill like 6 orcs, I win and run down the squad heading off a long way towards the other orcs. . .

5th turn High Elves
Movement - Sword Masters charge into the big cluster of orcs in the top right corner hitting the boars, Shadow Warriors leave the trees heading towards Bolt thrower 1
Magic - I fail to get Shades of Death off, to far away for unseen lurker on the Sword Masters
Shooting - I shoot with the Shadow warriors, and hit the bolt thrower 4 times but can't wound it, strength 3 versus toughness 7
Close Combat - Chariot hits the other pump wagon, kills it but moves to a bad position 7 inches to the board edge with the last pump wagon looking at its but. . .
I smash the boars to crunchy little chunks, winning by 6, I run off the board.
5th turn Orcs
Animosity - None
Movement - Orcs 3, Orcs 4, and the Boars reform to get better positioning to recieve the charge, the Pump Wagon charges the Chariot I flee off the board :.
Magic - 1 foot of Gork fails to cast, the other dispel, I dispel the bound item.
Shooting - I lose 2 more Sword Masters due to bolt thrower, with I guess homing arrows sheesh

6th turn High Elves
Movement - I come on the board facing his generals unit, the other has its back to me
Shooting - My last 4 shadow warriors shoot at the bolt thrower and again wiff. . .

6th turn Orcs
Animosity - None
Movement - Has to charge with his generals unit due to frenzy.
Close Combat - I smash his unit badly doing 7 wounds he saves 1, and does like 1 wound, he flees and gets caught his last Orc unit makes its panic check, as does the bolt thrower.

End of Game Results - I am ahead by 129 points, If I had just retreated the shadow warriors to behind the trees, i would have had 1 quarter and he would have lost.

Thanks for the battle report . I'm new to high elves and fantasy in general, but I'm suprised your mage on a chariot did so well in hth? I guess it was just the chariot / horse hits? I would have thought you'd have to hide your mage somewhere and have him cast his magic.

Sounds like it was a good game

Edit: I forgot to comment on Korhil! In a swordmasters unit? Did he get confused about who he belongs with (the white lions)?

Nope he was where I wanted him, he isn't limited to a specific unit, and frankly giving Stubborn to a unit of swordmasters works fine. . .

Although in a bigger game I would have put a banner of sorcery in a squad of Phoenix guard and then had him join it. . .
