On Pg 34 of the WH codex it states the following;

"The Sister Superior may be upgraded to a Veteran Superior at a cost of +14 points. A Veteran Superior is Faithful and contributes 1 Faith Point to the army total and may be given any equipment allowed from the Witch Hunters Armory."

Now, when upgrading to a Veteran Superior for something like a Seraphim Squad or Celestian Squad do the same rules apply that they add +1 faith even though it's not mentioned in the specific entry itself?

I've always counted it as one for the veteran, and one for the squad, in the case of seraphim and celestian squads.

No, for Seraphim and Celestians, the Veteran Sister does not provide an additional Faith Point. You instead get 1 point for taking the squad.

Compare the rules for Dominions, Retributors and Battle Sisters to Seraphim and Celestians. Dominions, Retributors and Battle Sisters are not "Faithful", but their Veteran Sisters are. On the other hand, Seraphim and Celestians instead get +1 faith point for the whole squad.

Basically, if the unit has the special rule Faithful, you get the Fate point with or without upgrade.

If it says under Character that upgrading a Sister Superior to Veteran Superior gives you Faith, then that's what happens.

It's also important to know when the Faithful model or squad dies for the martyrdom faith points. And, if it's the Faithful vet that dies, the unit won't be able to use any Acts of Faith beyond the phase the model was removed.
