So then, is there anyone here who thinks that S5 is too extreme for them?
If so, what would you change it to and why?
A few ideas from other people so far:
S3
S3-2AS
S3-3AS
S4 (permanent)

I think it's fine, as a 95 Point Dwarf Cannon with Rune of Burning can bend that Hydra over a barrel.
However, those like Ogres who don't have access to flaming attacks, it can be pretty cheap. Hence why I suggest a permanent S4. (Or at least give every codex an option for flaming attacks.)

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Str 5 only when they have all five wounds left. Remember its only as strong as how many wounds they have left.

And all wounds are thrown at hydra not divided with the handler .
Means its easier to damage the hydra compare to the other war machines.
A few bolt throwers or poisoned attacks would do.

Seems rather daft that a monster that's ~1/2 the cost of a Star Dragon would have a better breath attack (on top of more attacks - including the handlers, Regeneration and Eternal Hatred.). Though I will concede that it has less wounds and is only T5 as opposed to T6.
EDIT: Beh. Forgot that the power goes down with its wounds as well. Disregard comment.
