I decided that I'd take my marines for a spin during the weekend.
I ended up playing 2 people who ended up with slightly under 2250 so I matched them.

The board was a temple of skulls on my left, then a forest with a wrecked rhino, then a bastion an my right. There was other terrain but it really took no part in the battle.

They took first deployment and first turn. I let them deploy 1
HQ and 1 Troops each rather than 1
HQ and 2 Troops between them. Their objective was the centre of the bastion mine was the top hatch of the wrecked rhino in the forest. One tactical squad deployed along near the bastion not combat squaded and another combat squaded so the flamer was with the master in the bastion and the missile was opposite my deployment zone, coteaz + co was opposite my objective. I had the master of the forge with servitors in the temple of skulls, the missile combat squad on the objective and the melta combat squad in front to intercept coteaz.
Turn 1 (Them)
Their rhino went straight for the temple of skulls, the bikes straight for the forest and everything else runs on and takes up firing positions except the grey knights land speeder and terminators who are deep striking. They forget searchlights so can't see me.
Turn 1 (me)
Land Raider containing termies and Lysander drive up to by the forest. Assault marines move up beside it. Flamer, Power weapon combat squad moves and runs for the bastion. Missile combat squad takes up firing positions. 10 man tactical moves and runs up to pass the forest on the left. Dreadnought moves up and spotlights coteaz. Coteaz then has the scouts, the pred and the melta and missile combat squad all fired at him and is reduced to him and his ocolyte in artificer armour and the Land raider immobileses the Dreadnought. No assaults.
Turn 2 (them)
Land Speeder, 1 squad of termies and the grey knights drop down. Land speeder goes of the board and is delayed, termies go onto the redeemer and are placed in difficult terrain by the bastion and are reduced by 2 due to failed dangerous terrain tests. Grey knights land perfectly in front of the 10 man squad. The rhino moves up and drops the flamer combat squad and chaplain, bikes and coteax move to intercept the 5 man melta squad. orbital bombardment misses the predator completely, Lascannons fail to penetrate the land raider. Shooting drops the 5 man combat squad and 5 of the 10 man squad. 1 of the suicidal objective contesters is killed by a krak missile. No assaults

Turn 2 (me)
Vangurd come down but are delayed. Land raider redeemer moves up and rends of the dreads multi melta. Predator and missile combat squad take down coteazs ocolyte. Master of the forge, servitors and scots take down 3 of the rhino squad. Flamer squad takes down the grey knight squad with the dreads help. No assaults.
turn 3 (them)
Land speeder comes down behid the redeemer but scatters 12" and ends up beside it. Rhino goes after the master of the forge and servitors. Chaplain and co moves up the steps of the temple of skulls. Coteaz and the bikes move to the edge of the forest. Shooting kills one servitor, one scout, 3 tactical marines (suicide squad), 1 tactical marine (objective holders). Then the lascannons explode the Land raider.

The land speeder then unloads on the contents but multi melta fails to wound, one blast scatters onto itself but does nothing and the last fails to get past the armour.

Chaplain assaults the scout and kills one while the scouts kill the remaining marines with him.
turn 3 (me)
Vanguard come down and go for the bikes but scatters to beside the rhino. Land speeder comes down between the crippled dread and forest. 5 remaining marines move up to attack the bikes. Dread moves up again. Termies move to within charge range of the 10 man tactical squad. Dread Immobilizes the Rhino. Pred, Marines and Master of the Forge + co whipe out the bikes. Assault marines shoot and charge the land speeder. Termies whipe out the tactical squad without a single casualty. Vanguard turn the Rhino to scrap metal. Chaplain reduces scout squad to tellion, 2 snipers and the missile launcher for no return casualties but they hold.
turn 4 (them)
termies come down and kill 2 tactical marines from the 5 man squad. Coteaz moves into terrain and reduces them to the missile launcher. Missile combat squad immopilizes the speeder with the missile and stun it with boltguns.Flamer combat squad redirected termies move up to the termies and they with the
devs shoot the termies but kill none. termies then charge but get cut down before they struck (sergeant had died during deepstriking). land Speeder kills all the assault marines.
Turn 4 (me)
Termies eat flamer combat squad and devastator squad with no casualties and consolidate to the base of the bastion. Suicide capturer gets to the edge of the set of craters he was sheltering in. Vanguard + Dread go to attack the termies and combined with the
MOTF and servitor kills them all with shooting. 3 man squad move to rienforce the objective. 1 wound dealt to the chaplain who kills one scout in return.
Turn 5 (them)
Kill one
TH +
SS termie at range. Landspeeder tries to tankshock them away. Coteaz eats the 3 marines losing one wound in return and consolidates to contest.
Turn 5 (me)
Lysander splits of and is the only one who climbs high enough to reach the top. He eats 3 for 1 wound lost.
MOTF joins combat with chaplain who kills both the scout and tellion before getting killed. Vanguard pred and Dread finally manage to instant kill Coteaz. Termies decide to have a stroll home to my objective rather than help Lysander.
Turn 6 (them)
Land speeder turbo boosts to contest my objective but the last missile marine get's killed by a missile.

Squad on bastion is anihalated and lysander loses a second wound.
turn 6 (me)
I decide to take revenge on the land speeded and destroy it via immobilized. Last marine is 12" from the objective. 6" move through cover (6 inches away) then a 2" run roll. 1" away from capturing.
