I have recently finished building about 1500 dollars worth of chaos space marines. I make everything and put on extras such as handguns on their sides or chains or spikes on their backpacks. How would I prime them?

Air brush / spray can primers are easily your best bet.

Yup. And it doesnt have to be GW spray. I cant stand that crap, never liked the outcome and its pretty pricey. Alot of people use Krylon black primer. I use some cheap stuff from home depot. Its like 97c a can. Its thin, and I like that because it fills the mini very nicely, and leaves the details perfectly intact.
But its kind of your own style when it comes to primer. Others use brush on stuff like gesso(sp?) and the like. But I dont know anything about brush ons

1500 dollars worth?!?! holy hell that must be freaking apacolypsed sized eh? Anyhow, yeah as KingCracker said, dont need to use GW stuff... its not terrible IMO but you can get equal stuff for like less then 5 bucks...
