I've just noticed that the Daemonhunters Codex contains their own rules for smoke launchers, much like the Nemesis Weapon debate. When used, "any penetrating hits count as glancing hits", which means that a GK vehicle that has popped smoke will be much harder to destroy than any other vehicle that has used the launchers.
Is this possible or should the rules in the Codex be changed to the regular rules of smoke launchers? Like I said earlier, this kinda falls into the same debate as "Nemesis Weapons and Instant Death", so I thought I should check on Dakka.

Thanks,

Valkyrie

Not really as unclear as the nemisis force weapon... the last paragraph of p62 BRB under "Smoke Launchers" is fairly clear.

That's how smoke used to work, and that is how DH smoke works until they get a new codex or some errata.

Searchlights are in a similar position. Prior to 5th edition every codex's searchlights worked slightly differently.

Yup, Dæmonhunters use their own rules, not the BRB ones.

Codex trumps BGB. Even if it is an old codex, providing it's the latest edition. Such as DE grotesques "feel no pain" which grants them immunity from any weapon below Str 6. Provided you are using the latest edition of the codex you use the codex rules.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Yeah dude Codex trumps BGB. Plus we (DH players including myself) need all the help we can get when we play our pure DH armies.

If your vehicle is actually obscured, you get that in addition to the smoke in your codex.

So, a 4+ cover save AND damage downgrade.

DH don't entirely suck. They have to have some small benefit.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
