Been having great success with this list against hoarde and MEQs.

[HQ]

Vulkan He'estan: 190

Librarian: 100 [avenger, null zone]

[Elites]

5 Assault Terminators (4 TH/SS, 1 LC. If vs. Eldar, 5 TH/SS): 200

Land Raider dedicated transport (las-bolt Raider): 250

[Troops]

Tac squad, powerfist, combi-flamer, melta gun, missile launcher, in Rhino: 245

Tac squad, powerfist, melta gun, missile launcher, in Rhino: 235

[Fast Attack]

2 Squadrons of 2 Land Speeders (MM/HF): 280

Each Tac squad stays in its Rhino unless there's something worth assaulting, and Vulkan, the Terminators, and the Librarian roll around in the Land Raider. Typically, the Speeders will work to disable enemy armor and soften up hoarde units and then sprint for the enemy objective/s late in the game.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

This hasn't really been an issue yet but I'm open to suggestions. As is, there's no room for it. What would you eliminate for another Tac squad?

Your list has an issue: It's a big rock that you smash peoples face in with. You have some ridiculously killy stuff crammed in a LR, which oh btw is not the most efficient LR. If using one, take a LRC w/MM. It kills stuff dead, lol.

Anyhow, you have this deathstar unit. Very little survives the charge, right? Well, it relies on the LR to get places. When your opponents figure out that losing one Chim+5 ISTs with 2 melta guns is far superior to losing their army, well, expect to see your guys walking. And eating a ton of firepower, lol. Hell, a Scouting Valk can drop Demo or melta vets in your lap first turn, and then you're really up a creek. So he loses 230 pts, eh. You can't get anywhere near him now.

With the LR gone, life is gonna suck for everything else. Rhinos get popped easily, and LS are not going to hang around, even with 4+ cover. Too much relies on that one combined unit.

Rewrite the list.
Drop the OMGZ KILLY unit, and make it balanced. Vulkan works at this level, but the second HQ isnt a necessity. Take a third tac squad, and maybe a small scout squad to camp a home field objective. LS are great, but can't survive attention. Dreads and Dakka Preds make great distractors

Who do you play against?

Believe it or not, the LR is the distraction.

I mostly play MEQs, sometimes Ork armies, sometimes Eldar, really a bit of everything. I've used this in a few games so far at my local stores Escalation league and in casual games with great results. One win against orks (nob-heavy, very killy), one against BA (assaulty), one against Mech guard, and one against Eldar (not the best Eldar list, admittedly). Had a win against a ridiculous DE list (something like 12 or 14 Dark Lances, the thing actually survived for a while, luck more than anything else) and the Chaos lash lists. Believe it or not, it can work very well depending on how you use it. I don't just drive it full speed ahead like most would probably assume.

It's definitely tipping the scales at 740 points, but both Tac squads are tooled out well and the Speeders are brutally effective. I'd like to take the Librarian out but against assaulty MEQs (or things that have trouble popping AV14 like Orks), it's just too good.

The one swap I do often is a straight up 100 point swap, Librarian for 2 MM-armed attack bikes, if the opponent is running a mech-heavy Guard list or something.

Against Eldar I would definitely consider dropping that Librarian for a unit out outflanking scouts or something of that nature. Reason being that I never get to pop off any psychic powers anyway because everybody brings Eldrad these days.

One last thing. I really don't like the other LR variants at all. The Redeemer is really only one AP3 flamer template because you never get both of those things to bear on a target and if it gets immobilized it's pretty worthless. I like the TL lascannons, and a weapon-destroyed result really doesn't mean jack to that thing because it's usually moving 12" anyway. The one variant I've considered is the Crusader with MM but then its shooty threat range is 24". Basically, I think I'm the only person that likes the standard LR configuration.

It will be a issue with two troop choices and you've got D3 + 3 objectives. Focus fire on those two units and you've lost :(

Drop vulcan. In a game of 1,500 you don't really need two hq's let alone one which is 190 points and worth a unit. Plus your not really using vulcan, you have some thunderhammers two meltaguns and two multimeltas. Your not really benefiting from vulcan by taking buckets of flamers, meltas & hammers.

Re-read the list.

I'm running 4 multimeltas, 5 heavy flamers, one combi-flamer, and 2 meltaguns, plus the THs. If I wanted to drop the MLs for multi-meltas, then I'd be running 6 multi-meltas total, but 4 usually gets the job done. Not easy to cram in more than that.

When I bump it up to 1,850 I'm definitely running another Tactical squad. Probably 250 points on that, plus 2 attack bikes with multi-meltas.

You're right that if it comes up 5 objectives, I'm in trouble. I guess the goal there is to try to contest as many things as possible. Shouldn't be a huge problem as we've got some fast movers there and if it really came down to it, I could always drop some Speeders back behind cover until they're ready to make a push. Or disembark the Marines early and use the Rhinos to contest. Most people don't waste shooting on empty transports until they realize what's going on with them.
