I converted some high Elves into Rough Riders using medical tape and a carving knife. I removed the reigns on the horses and covered the high elf bodies in srtips of medical tape which i painted various shades of brown (to look like strips of leather or hide). I can't attach image to this message because i'm doing it on the computer at school but you can see my R.R. in my Gallery, (first 3 pics.)

They're pretty good.

They work surprisingly well, I would never had thought to use elves to make R.Rs.

Anywho, the conversions look really good, and the paintjob is pretty nice (about the same as my level, so I'm using that as a comparison, not others dakkaites)

My only fault is that the steeds still look a touch too elven; I would say if you are going to do it again, remove mre of the armour plates and crests, or make more crude and human-ey.

Aside from that, pretty awesome -

Besides, the guys get a chance to let their FABULOUS! side out. - Fafnir, regarding male howling banshees

Also i think the spear should look like its packing an explosive charge, maybe be less elven/exquisite too

Very good otherwise.

How do you sujest I make the lances look explosive
I have a bunch of extra grenades and stuff but i'm not sure want to do with them so they look good.

Whoa, sentence structure and spell checker lol.

I like the looks of them. And yea try sticking some grenades near the spear heads. They are suppose to explode after all.

Funky use of the elves there. Agree with the slightly elven horses looking a bit out of place but they might fit with the rest of the army so not really a problem. If you are still thinking of working on them, even sticking some sparse pistol holsters or baggage would 40k them up a bit.

As for the explosives, if you are happy with using a scalpel I would suggest you cut a grenade in half and stick the bits either side of the blade towards the base of the tip.
