I was harvesting carrots on my farm and milking chocolate cows when a thought occurred to me: Cotton Pickin' Varmint is a derogatory slur! Cartoons of that era are notoriously racist, I dont know why Yosemite Sam's catch phrase didn't ring this way before! The implications of cotton-picking seem obvious, as well as the vague varmint term. Plse hlp me with this, I dun know if i can ever watch looney toons again!

Forever alone

In the present day, I'd have to agree.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

In the present day when most people who might get offended have never SEEN cotton, I would think not. Although people's ability to be offended never ceases to amaze....

It is only a racial slur when taken out of the context of cartoon. And besides, the cartoon is designed for little kids.

If you want to take it to extremes, then Spongebob promotes the idea that no child should ever dream to do anything remotely valuable with their lives, as the title character is a cook in a fast food resturant and he never aspires to be more.

Why doesn't Spongebob go to Bikini Bottom Community College? Why didn't they show him attending classes at Bikini Bottom High School? Why? For the children's sake, why?

I like overbosses rant.

Consider this The mouse was mexican "Im not going to try and pronounce his name" and was always jumping the border and his buddy *other mouse* was always drugged up. :S

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Curse your Family Guy References!!!!

But honestly, I don't think so.

I can understand how it could be, but Overboss summed it up nicely.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

And so much more PC,honestly we should all strive to create the " most safe, unabrasive, polite, sedentary, inoffensive world we can...then we can all stand around and enjoy how nice we are."
It's a catch phrase from a cartoon...not a klan rally.

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

Both my Dad and Dad in law picked cotton. So my first reaction is to get the stick and unleash the dread "you need to go yourself." But I'm eating a nice breakfast bar this morning so I won't.

I seriously didn't know anyone said that outside Bugs Bunny cartoons. I'll reserve THE STICK for anyone saying that in person.
