Hi folks,

I have a quick question about Assault on Black Reach. Can anyone tell me if the Dreadnought included is the same as the Dreadnought model sold individually?

Also, are the pieces included in the Black Reach Boxset to change the weapons, or is it the Assault Canon/Power Fist combo only?

Thanks,

Ken

It only has a multi-melta/DCCW.

I think it has some scultping differences, like a smaller or bigger power plant.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I was looking at a blurry picture and on closer inspection, it does indeed appear to be a multimelta.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, it's the same basic design, but moulded in fewer pieces (front, back, feet, arms) with a few minor detailing differences and with only the multimelta and DCCW.

Smaller power plant & some sculpted icons (Ultra marine IIRC),100% correct on the weapons.

There are a few extra details on it. It consists of fewer pieces as stated above.

And the iconography isn't Ultramarine specific. Though the transfer sheet makes this easy.

Its simple: overspecialize and you breed in weakness. It's slow death.

Also worth mentioning that the weapons from the dreadnought boxes will not fit on the AOBR dreadnought or vice versa because the nubs that the dreadnought weapons attach to are different sizes.

You could always glue them on or magnetize them.

Somewhere in south-central England.

I converted my AoBR dread using my mad skillz, added an assault cannon, an extended CC arm and a heavy flamer/bolter.

£25 is too much for a single model.

If you want dreads, better to buy an AoBR and swap the Ork bits to a friend for his SM bits, then you get two, plus enough infantry for most of an army.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

I found it to be a really easy model to convert. The multimelta can be converted as well, or you can get weapon bits easy online.

the AoBR dread is also designed to be entirely press-fit, no glue required! I found that to be pretty fun.

Note: The fist does have the Heavy Bolter under it, and I tracked down the Heavy Flamer bits for mine, and they require almost no work to be replaced on.

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

The eye of terror.

It has a storm bolter, not a heavy bolter.

Either way, that bit is in the garbage.
