Chaos Space Marine dedicated to Slaanesh
|
A few years ago I made a hot rod hearse for fun, using the Black Coach model as a basis. Then, recently, there was an accident and the hearse was smashed into lots of bits, some of which I lost. I bundled it into a box and left it... until now.
This is just the skeleton of the model really, working out proportions and rough locations. I know what I want to do with it, but I need your help. I want this to look like a shrine to inappropriate noise. My Slaanesh force is going to be more of a Necromunda size than a full on 40k size and the vehicles are all urban-suitable, to a point. This allows me to do more outlandish vehicles plausibly. The exaggeration of form (my army's theme) here is being tall and narrow, mimicking early 20th century motorcars.
I think I'll be mounting massive speakers on the chassis rails at the sides between the wheels. The rear compartment I'm unsure about, but I'd like to keep it as it is (it's not glued together yet, just propped together) if possible though I'm open to suggestions. I will be smoothing the bulkhead into the engine cover, adding a bit of detail around the exhausts and the stuff on the top too so they look more plausible than currently. Another light will appear on the other side when I can get a matching one. I think I have components to build a driver, though that's going to be tricky.
I must reiterate that I've done no sculpting on this yet, this is the skeleton of the model. I don't want to commit to sculpting until I know better the direction I'm going with the finer details. All your advice is very welcome, it helped no end with the Tentacle Marine and gave me the confidence to try and rebuild this complicated model.

well few things that instantly popp'd in to my head were.... fog/megaphone speakers * possibly in sets of 3 * on the 4 corners of the cab part, outlandish styled wheel covers * was thinking of mixing old 20/30's with say 50/60's caddalac style fins for the back * and well maybe kick'n flame decal's LoL
Goodluck and can't wait to see what you do with it.

It'd be a pricey option, but you could order up an Exorcist and just use the keyboard part from the front. Shouldn't be too hard to chaosify it, perhaps add a headbanging daemonette playing ot too?

Had to look up what the Exorcist was, I'm that out of touch with new GW releases. I think it would be too wide and too long for the cab, but it does give me an awesome idea of how to fit an organ into the back, so I think we've got that bit sorted out. I'm thinking making the organ pipes emerge through the side windows or even through the roof panel with the organist facing the back of the vehicle within the cab to play. Should give me enough space for a driver too. Yep, ideas like that are why I post to the forum when I'm stuck Automatically Appended Next Post: Segef wrote:well few things that instantly popp'd in to my head were.... fog/megaphone speakers * possibly in sets of 3 * on the 4 corners of the cab part, outlandish styled wheel covers * was thinking of mixing old 20/30's with say 50/60's caddalac style fins for the back * and well maybe kick'n flame decal's LoL

Flames are a given... I'm planning black coachwork with pink-to-blue flames, like a gas flame, on the engine traditional hot rod style. Sticking with the wheels as they are, quite like the monstrous old truck look (they're actually from an army truck and jeep models) I just need to find a replacement spike or a pair of hub cabs for the front wheels. I like the fins idea but I'm yet to see anyone that's incorporated fins on a classic hot rod and made it look good so it might not happen. I wonder where to get megaphone speakers from? Someone must make little plastic ones, they seem like the sort of thing someone would make. Wouldn't it just sound tinny? I mean, in theory with today's electronics I could mount a slimline noisemaker under the chassis, but I don't know that the sound would be ideal.

You see this is why Slaanesh is the greatest chaos god. You get all the perks of pleasure, and you get to friggin ride in the galaxies coolest cars.
Srsly why go Nurgle something is just going to fall off.
I can't wait to see that painted up and maybe have a noise marine hanging off the side or rocking with a air guitar or something.
