I am looking to set up a compact rig in a spare bedroom [don't worry I won't be using flammables/noxious chemicals!]. I am no artist and this will only be used for under/base coating minis and scenery.

I am happy that I can procure the right airbrush and sundry kit at low costs [there are some really helpful threads here so well done Dakka btw especially the Mistress of Minis thread] but what is holding me up at the moment is what compressor to get? I am therefore after Dakkas recommendations.

I would ideally like a compact electrically powered unit with an integral/attached tank [only a small one] and cheap is always welcome!

Also is it practical to feed a seperate tank from a small compressor and then use the tank to supply an airbrush? I could see the valving between the respective components getting complicated?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I have the Iwata Smart Jet and I really love it. Though it is the only compressor I know - it was highly recommend here and elsewhere.

As for the separate tank - So far I've not found it necessary for my purposes. The Smart Jet isn't so loud that it being on is any sort of issue for me.
