Need some tips.

I have a hard time putting them together -- the plastic gun arm and the arm holding up the gun are a pain... any tips or suggestions? thanks

When assembling, glue the arm holding the gun to the body and leave it to dry before adding the other arm, otherwise it can get very akward. If it still dosent work, then you may want to try pinning the arms together.

First they are paired to go together the best. Second use extreme caution with the most bent arm piece. It often snaps at the wrist in the newer sets.

Start by removing all legs, clean up each piece and glue to base a little back from center to help balance the models since they hunch over a bit. Then remove and trim the front and back pieces. Glue together and set off to the side. Next remove each head, trim, and put in pile. The next step is to remove and trim the arms. Make sure to keep paired.

Glue all the bodies in positions as desired and let them dry and allow the glue plenty of time to set. Glue the gun arms on next immediately follow each one with the paired arm to ensure they fit together and support each other. Allow time to set and dry and finish off with heads and gun tips.

Something that must be said: Do not glue the green rods into the weapons until after you have finished painting the model, and use PVA when glueing the rods.

This is good advice - I mixed my arms/guns together and a few of my warriors look really awkward now or have gaps in between the gun hand and support arm.

I cement the legs/body together and then attach them to a base, then put small dabs of cement on both arm sockets on the body and the gun hand. Holding the support arm and the gun together for a bit so the plastic can melt a tiny bit, I then stick them on the warrior. If they fall down I brace them with an eraser or a roll of tape on its side - this holds the gun up in a shooty fashion.

if you want them shooting into the air then a citadel pot turned on its side works well.

I would actually recommend gluing in the arm that doesn't have the gun on it first, then adding the gun arm. That way you can rest the heavier gun arm in the correct position while it dries. If you do it quick enough, you can always reposition the support arm to meet the gun easier.

That's what I do with Marines anyway, might work with Necrons. I also agree with the comment about the green rods. Put them in after painting with PVA glue- plastic glue causes them to 'mist over'.

Good luck!

Not very well with Necrons, actually. The positioning of the left arm depends very much on the position of the gun, They can be a little fiddly to get right, so gluing the gun arm first, or just diving in and gluing them both at the same time (works ok if you have a plastic glue that grabs reasonably quickly) is a little easier.

Plastic glue shouldn't make them mist... or at least, I've never seen plastic glue do that. Superglue will.

I've actually had good results with putting the rods on after painting but before using a Matte Varnish. Yes the rods get foggy but they also always look like they are glowing.
