IIRC, Yakface has stated before that this is avoided for some reason that escapes me at the moment... look for a thread on it in Dakka Discussions from a few months ago.
Like 40k, there are a lot of respectable and friendly people playing MtG, but there are also a lot of arseholes, who would be drawn to Dakka as they look for somewhere that they're not banned from.

I thought it already had one, does it not fit in with the LOTR and other fantasy games section. If there was enough traffic that clogged up other forum section the mods would make a MTG forum, but as is we don't have a whole lot of MTG discussion here on Dakka.

I play, but it's always a hesitant, cautious sort of thing...
I don't talk about it on forums, mainly for the reasons listed above. I don't tend to like fanatical Magic players in real life or otherwise. There are a few locals I can tolerate, and one or two that gak me to tears.
If anyone starts a MtG thread, I'd say a few things, but I wouldn't bother mentioning much more that the decks I'm working with at the moment.

I just find the metagame extremely tiresome.
As stated again and again, MtG players generally make up the most outstanding examples of the abhorrent 'neckbeards,' if that terrible term must be used at all.
