I need to make a nice army banner for the upcoming 40k Irish GT. I've got a great .jpg image I want to use as the basis of the banner but I was hoping some of you have tips on making a banner.

Are we talking about a banner thats for your army (a lil plastic one) or a real banner for a tournament team (a full sized cloth one)?

Sorry! It's a banner for my army so it would be carried by a Nob

Someone said you shrink it and then print it. Again, any help appreciated.

I like the image, though it is sort of reminiscent of some neo-nazi images I have seen. ( it's not from a neo-nazi source,is it?) If it were me, I would do my own rendering, where I would remove the extra detail and simplify the image so that it would translate better to 28mm size. Since the image is in 3 colors, I would start with my all red backdrop, then scale down the image on a copier and make a stencil out of acetate. Then apply the two colors with whatever method you are most comfortable with. Airbrush would work well, but it could probably be brushed through a stencil just as easily. A better method, would prolly be to use the inkscape program available for free on this site, and scan in your image then print it on waterslide paper and apply it to your blank banner. I, personnaly, havent taken the time to familiarize myself with the functions of the inkscape program, but you could prolly figure out how to use it or find someone in the forums to walk you through it.

If you have access to a colour laser printer, just print it out and wash the paper with diluted PVA and bend it into a nice shape.

Like Gil Gerard said above, the main issue is losing the fine detail -- especially in the fractally red b/g -- when you scale the image down.

See my Kommissar Kar here with laser printed banners stuck on with PVA.
