Hello everyone I been thinking of starting a Space Marine army but I didnt want to play a chapter that everyone plays like the Blood Angels, Ultramarines, and Space Wolves. I was reading more about the Black Dragons and I love their fluff but I can't seem to find any good pictures of Black Dragon armies, I also can't find anything about their rules I've heard that all the cursed founding chapters have special rules but I've searched site after site and found nothing. So I wondering if anyone has a army of Black Dragons and has pics and tips on painting them.

AFAIK they are dark green/black with silver trim and a silver dragon pad
and they grow claws or spines or something like that
I have never seen a army of them and would find it a amazingly cool project to watch

I heard the they supposed to have Ice Blue trim I worked up a color scheme for them using the Bolter & Chainsaw painter.

Have you checked out 40k Wiki? They've got an entire page dedicated to them.

In terms of rules, most chapters (cursed or not!) don't have their own special rules. Back in the days of Chapter Traits, it would have been easier to represent them. Nowadays, I'd use the Blood Angels codex to represent them. The cursed souls of the Death Company can be used to show the Black dragons unit with the stabby/killy/spike things.

As for colours, whilst the official fluff does state black with an ice blue trim (Codex:Armageddon), I personally would lose the ice blue. Highlight with a grey- it seems more natural for black.

I have read the wiki about them that's where I first heard of them.
I read that something called Chapter Approved had rules for the cursed chapters but I can't find out weather Chapter Approved was an article or a book or anything about it.

There were rules and conversion examples in an old Chapter Approved article.

Actually, I've got this article just in front of me as I'm writing this post. I can try to send you scans, but I warn you: it's in French... (You really want to play the Black Dragons? Then you've got to deserve it!!

Yes I am very interested, I know very little French and that little I know are mainly from Alizee songs.

But if you have the time for to translate them I'd very grateful.

i used to have a black dragons esque army. I suggest if you can get them the spikes off dark eldar to make their blades it worked pretty well.

also there was a set of rules for them flaoting a bout a while go. Although un-official they seemed to work quite well)

What dark elder figs?
How do you think blades of Tyrnids would work?

Tyranids blades would be just fine, some CSM Possesed part (especially some arms) should work.

here's a pick i had on the old hard drive. what rules are you going to be using? i'd suggest the space wolves with everyone that can be upgraded with mark of the wulfen to simulate the dragons claws/horns/blades that the chapter grows as they get older. normally, i'd say you should use the blood angel rules but they're kind of monotonous. also, if you check the news and rumors forum, there's a user called "chapterhouse" that makes his own icons and shoulderpads for sale. his salamander/dragon ones would be perfect for the project.

A little off topic but does anyone know where i can view/download page 16 of the Deamonhunters codex (the armoury)?

On topic I would look on the lexicanum for them.

as was stated in a previous thread that was locked and deleted yesterday, GO BUY THE CODEX! the only reason you can't see page 16 is because you're ONLY using the pirated scan. once again, GO BUY THE CODEX! don't use someone else's thread to help your own piracy.

A codex is something you cant do without if you want to play to play Warhammer. If don't buy the codex then your screwed.

Back on topic I've uploaded my paint scheme to my gallery since the last pic didn't work, I used the Jump Pack because the Assault Marines are the ones who have the Blades growing from there arms and head. I think it turned out pretty good.

I will be starting in a few weeks when I pick up a AoBR starter set I figured I'd get it since I got an Ork army as it is and you get alot in the set and I get it for 65$ at my FLGS.
