Professional Baseball? Jeez I didn't know what that was still around.

We've been getting the playoffs here in Oz and man is it boring.
Test cricket is more exciting, and that is saying something...

Professional baseball. The only time you can be unable to stand drunk and STILL be bored.

Basketball can be interesting.
1. Events occur. This does not happen in baseball.
2. Halftime! baseball has no halftime, just fat guys scratching themselves.

If you grow up in Texas, add "while talking about how great Nolan Ryan was." He sells steaks now.

But then I'd have to like, go to Chicago. If I am going to Chicago for a game I'd be watching Da Bears, with right and proppa ancillary visual opportunities.
Wow this brings back memories:

Ugh, football was meant to be watched on TV. Terrible sight lines in most stadiums. If I wanted to get drunk and ogle the female form I'd spend the ticket money on club cover.
The only pro sporting events I actually like going to are NHL games.
Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.

Sinner! Blasphemer! Actually FB games are best viewed from the sideline. You cannot experience the roar of a game on TV. You have to live it. But that bores me too of course.
Hockey's good. We're in agreement.

I've never been a roar of the game person. I don't really get into games in the sense that I care who wins. I'm more interested in watching individual players, game plans, and techniques.

The thing I have against baseball is that it is always on when I want to watch something. Last night, I couldn't watch my normal shows because the World Series was on.
I understand that the games need to have air time, and that the sport is wildly popular here in the states, I just don't think it should supersede everything else.
When discussing this with a fan of the sport, I got this: "feth what other people want to watch, THIS! IS! BASEBALL!!!" That attitude bugs me.
I am a damaged individual screaming random obscenities into the internet, sorry if I upset you.

And I hope the Phillies sweep the next three games. Not because I hate the Yankees**, but because I hate Yankees fans.
*And that's American Football, for clarification.
**Okay, I hate the Yankees, as well.

Edit this to "The only sport worth watching/supporting at all.", and we agree completely.

The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

True, Cricket does have Batman and Batman makes everything cooler.
Oh why can't google find a picture of Batman playing cricket?
As for tonight's game... you've gotta and it to the Yankees, letting the Phillys win so Yankees fans could see another game at home and giving Mariano Rivera a day off.
