The theme of this army is to use 75 Hormagants in a 'speed' focused list (no heavy support).

I have 2 variations to it, and I will be using these lists to battle Necrons on tuesday for the planet diplomacy campaign.

So what do you guys think? Ideas? Comments? Suggestions?

These guys wont win because of power-weapons nor will they win because they are extremely tough and have a monstrous str6+.

They will win thanks to Combat Resolution

They will have massively improved chances if they take +1I adrenal glands.

Judging your lists by their inherent speed Id say that the walking Tyrant is low on the opponents priority list. Therefor buying that Tyrant 3 Tyrant Guard may not be needed; doesnt ad to a Godzilla theme either. Concluding Id say that the second list with the additional squad of Ravaners would be better. Also offers more flexibility and a wider threat range than the Tyrant Guard. Hormaguants are there to swarm the opponents. Keeping them cheap is best Id say. So the extra WS may not be necessary.

Good luck with the list.

my only point that i notice is you have no capturing units in objective games. hormaguants are beasts thier for cant capture. in so i think the only thing you can do is contest thier for only being able to tie games on your opponenets

I like the second list better - maybe some flying rippers instead of the gargoyles though. Can you fit in 1 units of WoN gaunts?

Where's the synapse? In both lists I see this as the biggest problem. Warriors die too easily and the flyrant is priority 1. After that you lose all speed bonuses (unless you want to be out of synapse range when you win/lose combat).

Also everyone will be needing flesh hooks. Otherwise you will be on the receiving end of cc first...even against slow necrons.

In a 2k list when you want fast stuff zooming towards the enemy you should be fielding nothing but fast warriors. By the time they are in rapid fire range they are in combat, and heavy weapons are pretty ineffectual. I say scrap the tyrants and add as many cheapish flying warriors that you can.

Don't really need much synapse for this game, it's a campaign game with night fighting all game long I just need a sturdy tyrant to hold the back lines.

And necrons even if they go first will hardly do any damage to initiative 1 hormagants. lolz Necrons = not good in combat.

Thanks to everyone i played the game using a variation of list #1 that excluded the gargoyles and got a big win for the Nids.
