For those wondering what we`re working on here`s an early preview of our first multipart kit - steambike:

This is a rough version assembled from a basic set of parts (it includes main body, front wheel, 2 guns, handlebar). Full kit will also have legs for the rider and power lance that could be attached instead one of the guns.
We`re also thinking about some accessory sprue that will include some sacks, ammo boxes and so on. They`ll be availible as an extra set or included in a core one (we`re still discussing this).
This project was a lot of fun for me. Starting from my early idea, to Pawel`s early sketches, test model and then a finished one.

Last but not least something for those that would like to see some size comparison - a pic of a steambike next to Privateer Press model, IG and Wyrd mini:

Doesn't matter, I want one. It fits my Rough Riders' schtick pretty well (every single one of them is an individual mounted on a different beastie).

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I really like the model a lot. My only thought is that the gun barrels (not the cooling shrouds, the actual barrels) would be improved by doubling the diameter.

I thought so too. It would be easy to replace them with plastic rod, though.

Funny when we get so used to GW's "heroic" scale that a realistic-looking gun barrel "would be improved by doubling the diameter"!

Not a dig at Ouze (or anyone else outside of GW), just a comment on GW's insidious scale creep!

More directly to the post, that's a dead sexy bike! My only issue is with the shrouds themselves. They look large enough to house a water-cooling rig for the machine guns, but have vents cut in them like air-cooling shrouds. But no matter really... Very nice bikes!

Are the legs going to be "generic" scifi guardsmen legs? Cuz I have a bunch of Tallarn Rough Riders that have been looking for mounts!

i think i may have found my arbite bikes!

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

The scale creep is indeed a problem, however for thin parts it is sometimes necessary to replace them with something thicker to enable them to withstand the dangers of being a playing piece.

Is the final kit going to be resin or metal?

@Kilkrazy: definitely not metal as that would make the costs at this size insane.
To be honest I`m not worried about slightly less thick parts. They`re thick enough as we use materials that I`m sure will withstand normal gaming use. They should be as resistant as typical plastic models. It`s not a kind of brittle, cheapo resin that some companies (mostly small military models-orientated ones) use.
Moreover the design is pretty "compact" - I can`t see many parts (handlebar maybe?) that could break easily even if the model falls from considerable height.

@Breotan: hmmmm.... maybe subconsiously? I haven`t really thought about that . definiteley dodge tomahawk would look good in dieselpunk or even clasic steampunk genre .

Can`t give any clues about final price. It`s too early for that. It`s also one of the reasons we`re discussing whether we should include extra accessory pack in a core set.
But as usual we`re do our best to have it reasonable, but allowing us to sell this model to the distribution (yup folks, this means over 50% discount) at the same time .

Yay for hardtails!

You wouldn't want to take it off road IRL, but for a fantasy/SF game, it's the overall look that counts.

An accessory pack for the rear luggage rack would be nice. Here are a few ideas. I would offer them as alternatives or supplements.

Passenger seat and spare legs.
Auxiliary fuel tank.
Luggage panniers
Radio set.
Some kind of weapon system, like a multi-barrel mortar, a bit like a WW2 Hedgehog anti-submarine launcher.

You should do a set of ammo boxes and belts for the front end.

How big is that engine! looks like it could be 3000cc! BBBRRRRRRRRMMMM!!

Such a cool looking bike. I agree with piousman, that even though it's extreme, it does look more rideable than SM bikes with those squared off tires!

Luggage rack looks a bit wierd though (probably look fine with some luggage I guess )
