Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I had a look at the Skaven army book today and heroes can take items from the Magic item list and the scavenge pile. However there is no scavenge pile list in the army book. Is this an oversight from a canceled entry to the Army book or something else.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It's at the start with all the army wide rules....and there's nothing good in it anyway

You can take a few items from there to tool up your characters, but overall I do have to agree Skaven items in general are pretty poor. Last edition had ALOT better stuff and wasn't all 1 use only.

That was the main downer when I first saw the book, that so many nice items left and weren't replaced. We got more clan-specific items, but that's only so great. I gotta say, Alessio spoiled us with all the 25 point kit in the last book, so convenient getting 2 per character

As to the skavenge pile, I'm surprised no one has pointed out that, with no limits per item, you can give your warlord 20 pet rats, for a staggering 4 S4 & 20 S3 attaks

Yes right now that could be an option depending what you think on wargear etc. however, isn't that the scavenger item that if you roll a 1 to hit you hit yourself? If so your T4 Warlord is going to die really really fast to his own rats....because at best you will have a 3+ save with heavy armor, sh, hw/sh, and 20 rats.

Don't get me wrong it'd be funny, but most likely not so effective against anything not T3 or lower.

Here's a question on the scavenge pile items - if a warpstone pistol counts as a magic weapon, does it give you magic weapon attacks if used in HTH (like a brace of pistols type of thing)? Or is it just for shooting? I'm pretty sure it wouldn't count, but just wanted to check.

It isn't a magic close combat weapon, just can be used as an extra Hand Weapon - and Hand Weapons are, by definition, not magical.
