recently got one of these beasts as a prize for winning a local tournament... and I gotta say, its MUCH NICER than I expected!
the pictures on the box kinda lead me to believe it looks gaudy and craptastic, but its actually quite a nicely detailed model.
only real pain is that its all metal, so I had to pin its feet and torso.... and i've never pinned anything before, so figuring out how was quite a feat.
as a side note, what do you guys use to pin things with? I was searching my house for pinning materials, and eventually decided upon using 2 pieces of a staple for each hole I drilled with my pin vice. its a snug fit, and holds pretty well with the glue.

I have two sizes of paper clip (to suit the two sizes of drill bit I use for it) for mine.
1/2mm and 1mm (regular 33mm paperclip, and the larger ones).
On the half-mil ones, a steady hand is required as those bits break easily if you apply torque in the wrong direction.

1/2 mm, 1mm, 2mm solid brass rod for heavy duty work, paper clips for everything else. also having a titanium tipped drill bits make drilling a breeze.

paperclips work well for small parts, but i tend to use brass rod for larger parts due to its strength

I bounce back and forth between paperclips and straightpins. Straightpins are really dense and they do not break. I've ruined several pair of wire cutters with them. I use the paper clips for larger/heavier jobs and straightpins for smaller ones.
If you do decide to try straightpins, I'd like to offer up a word of caution: When you clip the pin, it usually sends the snipped piece flying in some random direction. The last thing you want is a pointy missile airborn in your room that will end up embedded in your carpeting.
Have something to poke the straightpin into before you cut it. Not just the first time you cut it, but every time. I have an old washcloth on my desk and I poke it into that before I snip.

I usually pin with 1mm brass rod, it's cheap and soft enough to file, snip and sand to shape. Also can be bent easily, which can be useful for tricky pinnings.
The stuff I use is Lion Roar brand, but it should be copiously available at hobby stores.
