Ok, here goes, as i've been struck by the Waaagh bug lately, i've decided to start another army after i just finished my chaos army. i've gone with Orks. because lets face it the conversions are second to none and there a hell of alot of fun to play with.

Now the thoughts behind this are, i've recently gotten a few good deals on 3 sets of AOBR orcs. which with a little work and some gubbins, will make the Kommando squads and the deffkoptas, the knobs will be converted to give the Big Choppa's to the bike units as i purchase them. the AOBR warbosses will end up with kustom rides of there own built from plasticard and bitz. also somewhere in there i'll be taking a landraider i had sitting in my closet and kustom it for either a battle wagon or looted wagon.

What i need atm are ideas for converting painboys on bikes and finding gork an mork bless'd Gubbins for Kommandos and a good way to make powerklaws. Any suggestions?
Going for a Kult of Speed army style, if it goes fast, or gets the Boyz in to da killin i'm all for it. as for the gretchin, they are for objective capping in my deployment zone while the rest moves forward ASAP.

Lots of burnas and PK bits on ebay, just start hunting.

Think some of the stuff in the nobs box is meant to be used to represent painboyz like the buzzsaw cutter arm and a couple of heads might be a cheap way to start them.

Vermillion is right, there is a few bitz in the nob box that is suppose to be used to a painboy. Also on a super easy way to make a painboy, just cut the barrel off of a slugga, and put a nail,pin,rod looking thing out the end to look needle ish. Its quick and easy lol

drop the points value of the individual Items. You can get in a lot of trouble like that.

For your kommandoes drop rokkit launcha IMHO and give them burnas instead, rokkit launchas at BS 2 aren't gonna hit a elephant. Also with burnas if ya don't shoot them they count as power weapons in assault str 4 int 3 no armor saving speez marienz killy goodness!

Ok will rework the points a bit to fit in the burnas.

Except for the fact that most of those shot will miss. And if your playing SM alot (I bet you will lol) they still get armor saves. So only a couple of those shots will kill something. Then again Im a bit prejudice towards lootas.
I agree on the burnas tho. Those are probably one of the best weapon choices in the Ork army. Either burn the pooh out of things, OR they are power weapons in CC. Now THOSE will kill some SMs for sure

I dont really ever use them to kill foot sloggin' marines. Thats what Boyz and Nobz are for.

Theyre my 'middle armor killers'.

I use them to harass and kill things with middle AVs like Rhinos and Predators.

Theyve done really well for me so far and have almost always killed their point value.

But! Since in the loota/ burna box you really get enough to make 4 of each, you might as well have both in your army....right?

Had nasty run ins with speed freaks myself, as can be seen in my army report with my dark eldar.

Heres a warbiker nob I made with a power claw. I think you were asking about scratch building power claws, so if you look at that gallery album you can see a few other orky conversions Ive done including power claws.
