So this weekend I suffered a terrible defeat. I played a very experienced player who was using his eldar army. I had a look at his list, and thought it would be a tough but winnable battle.

My list which has performed very well in the past is a term libby with 7 man terminator squad in LRC with 2 tacts in rhinos, a tact in a razorback and 2 landspeeders.

He was fielding farseer with reapers, pathfinders, dire avengers, scorpions in WS, banshees in WS, fire dragons in a falcon and a couple war walkers.

He got first turn, and popped my LRC, both landspeeders and the razorback. I was stunned, and even worse my terminator squad was pinned from the destruction of the vehicle.

On my first turn there was not much I could do, and by the end of his 4th turn I had not a single model left on the board.

I didn't really think his list was overly powerful, but it seemed to have all the right answers (and gogo rolling a 6 to pen and 6 to pop the LRC with the single BL in the army.)

Anyways, whats the worst defeat you have suffered fellow dakkaites?

worst defeat was back when I was starting up, 750 points. I played a chaos list that was 2x berzerker squads a sorc and some terminators, Dawn of War. I managed to kill one berzerker squad, but then my Warboss ate a force weapon and died, I eneded up tabled. As well, I called a useless Waaagh (big mistake), so since then I've been pretty carefull with my Ork Waaagh, and I try to call it when my army can benefit from it.

I also get regularly stomped by a friend who's as new to the game as me, but we play weird builds against eachother. The models he owns are: Marines in AoBR, Scout Snipers...and that's it. I have way more models than he does, so I try to play fair against him. (It doesn't help that I keep forgetting some rules when I play against him though)

my worst defeat was against a guard player... I was playing my 'ardboyz list w/ 3 raiders against his guard list... I thought it would be an easy game. I have first turn, and position to move my raiders forward to get my troops into position.

he steals the initative, and with 3 lascannon shots from his guardsmen, pops 2/3 of my land raiders. pen6'd. it was spearhead, and he had all he russes/artillery WAY the hell in the back, so now most of my army is walking through artillery fire to try to get into position to stop him.

I think he killed more of his own models from overheating plasma than I did. It was a bad, bad game.

In the Webway.

My worst defeat was probably in Fantasy but in 40k it was Orks v Ultramarines at my local store.

He had a very efficient list, led by non other than marneus calgar. He blew up my transports very quickly by pinning me with Snipers and shooting me with heavy bolter fire. I had little models left once i reached the Sm lines and was quickly overwhelmed. The only high point (and it was a cool one) was when my Warboss and Calgar went 1 to 1. They sruck at the same time, killing each other!! I lost heavily though.

I had my worst defeat two days ago at a small LGS tournament. I took my army, which was a Librarian, 5 Assault Terminators in a LRC, 3 tactical squads, 2 speeders and 2 dakka predators. I won the first game against a tyranid player, and my next match was against a 13 year old kid with a terrible Chaos Marine force. His models were poorly painted and he had wacky selections like a Tzeench Chaos Lord with a daemon weapon, only 3 meltaguns and foot Chosen with flamers.

I was overconfident so I drove my LRC forward and disembarked my Terminators to destroy his Chaos Dreadnought and Rhino (or marines inside if I destroy it). Instead my shooting didn't destroy anything and my Terminators only took out a Rhino. His CSM destroyed my LRC with one shot and his lord broke my Terminators and escorted them off the board. At that point I lost my mental balance and kept making bad decisions combined with bad luck. Such as his Lord walking around in the open taking multi-melta shots like a champ or my Librarian failing to wound him after his daemon weapon rolled 1. By the end of the game, I only had one tactical squad left and I had only taken out 3 units of his. I couldn't have lost to a more humiliating opponent.

I took a beat down last week. First time playing orks and underestimated their speed and ability to blow my tanks up...

I brought my new Punisher and didnt get a chance to use it and lost my two Battle Tanks on turn one.

Then i had orks on my front lines and couldnt do anything about it....

I have another game against him tonight.. this time i am better prepared... LOTS OF FLAME!!!!

-1500pts

When I first started I had a few boyz. I was playing a casual game with a demon player turn two he gets two of his soulgrinders in and plates by boys...all gone.

Got very depressing.

At the Atlanta GT in.... 2003? Boy its been a while...

I played an old V4 game with my IG vs Iron warriors.

I was playing (mandatory old codex IG stuff) + 20 roughriders, and 3 plasma demolishers.

Turn 2:

I rolled 3 demolisher hits on obliterator squads and a havoc squad in woods... The guy rolled every (maybe 10?) 5+ saves in one turn! I killed a single model.

Then I had turn 2 charges versus all his troops with all 20 roughriders!

62 I5 power weapon attacks for 4s, and 3s! I Killed...

ZERO,

2 hits in 62 dice for 4+!
Failed both of the wounds...

The Oblits killed all 3 demolishers next trun in 3 shots and I was tabled out of melees by turn 4 end.

Worst game I ever played. Try not to be a sore looser, but I threw the dice in the trash. Went 1400 miles for it as well...
