The 13th spell only affects units of infantry. What happens if there are Cav units in an infantry block?

What kind of mixed unit are you talking about? I'm guessing mounted character models in an infantry unit? Thats a hard one - depends on what you classify the character as (cavalry, character or infantry).

Probably comes down to the wording of the spell. If it actually says "infantry" I'm guessing the character on a steed is non-effected, and you resolve the spell on the unit as normal leaving out the character.

The spell is cast on Infantry units, then talks about removing models.

As the mounted character becomes part of the unit for all purposes the unit is still Infantry - best proof of this is that the unit will pursue as Infantry NOT cavalry.

I tend to agree with nosferatu1001 as the spell indicates the type of unit rather than the type of model. Thus the mounted character would still be in an infantry unit.

This spell seems like it would work wonders on a unit of temple guard with a Slann.

Not that you'll get the spell off normally - miscast 12 and opponent miscast 5-6 is what you need.

It will probably be the first time a Slann will willingly used Cupped Hands on a 5-6 result

Its a great spell, I love it for the threat value and the "what the heck" mentality that skaven typically have. The idea of demolishing a unit of skeleton's with a vampire lord in it is to much to hold back. Its the auto default spell to cast if you opponent roles a 5-6 on a miscast.

I'm not to sure how id play that but it seems to me that you would deal damage on the unit but just ignore the calvary model, but it's best to double-read the spell description just to make sure.

The spell targets Infantry Units (I've read it...)

A unit of infantry with a character attached on a cav mount is STILL an Infantry unit, and is thus a legal Target

Once you have selected it as a target you move onto the damage effects, which removes models. There is no requirement for this to be an Infantry Model, therefore if you remove enough models you WILL remove the character.
