In a recent trade I got hold of some Nurgle Terminators, and a few renegade Guard from ForgeWorld. Now I've always to run a Lost and Damned army, but unfortunately, codex support for them is no longer.
Now usually, what most people what do is use the regular Imperial Guard list, and attempt to craft together something that looks nice and includes all their mutants. However, I just didn't feel that the regular Guard list does them justice. Not only that, but there are some Chaos Space Marine units I'd like to include as well like Nurgle Terminators, and Imperial Guard list doesn't make provisions for them. Then a brainwave ocurred. What if I did a Lost and the Damned list using the Ork codex? The counts as rule means that this is more than a viable proposition, and if it's a nurgle themed force, it fits the statistics as well, so the +1 toughness/extra wounds make sense.
Now I've gone through the Ork codex and picked out some things that would coutn for other things, but I'd like to see what Dakka thinks would 'count as'.
Here's what I've got so far:-
Ghazghkull Thraka/Warboss=Daemon Prince
Mad Dok Grotsnik:-Fabius Bile
Wazdakka Gutsmek-Doomrider?
Old ZogWort/Weirdboy-Alpha level Psykers
Big Mek- ?
Nobz-Death Guard/ Large Mutants?
Meganobz-Terminators
Burna Boyz- ?
Tankbustas-?
Lootas- Renegade Guardsmen w/ Heavy Stubbers/?
Kommandos-?
Ork Boyz- Renegade Guard/Mutants depending on their equipment
Gretchin-Plague Zombies
Trukk- Civilian Transport, so cars, etc
Stormboyz-?
Warbuggies-More modified civilian vehicles,
Warbikers-?
Deffkoptas-Renegade Guard Helicopters
BattleWagon-Modified Russes
Deff Dread-Flat Crabs(Gaunts Ghosts)
Killa Kans-Small Spider tanks
Flash Gitz-?
Big Gunz-Artillery of course
Looted Wagon-depends on what I'm fielding it with
So what would you fill in the blanks? Also, I'd like to field Chaos Spawn as somehting, but what? Ideas?
This is the first army I've ever started collecting purely for the joy of modeling and painting, and not giving a damn about how it plays, so I'll be keeping a blog when it gets rolling in a few weeks.
