Hi all,

I got my copy of Grind yesterday. I ordered the game because I thought it looked cool and I was looking for a nice alternative game to regular Warmachine. Grind (while still having jacks) seemed to fit the bill. I ordered it for €50,- and waited till it was shipped.

Now that I have it in hands I am somewhat disappointed with the type of plastics it is made from (very bendy) But I can uderstand the reasoning behind it. Parts are interchangable and thus have to be bendy, otherwise they would break. Still think I should replace them with magnets and or pins though... Besides the plastics I must say I like the looks of the jacks, especially the khadoresque ones. (officially no factions playing against each other, although anyone can see it's khador vs Cygnar ) The board looks sturdy and will be fine. The pillars and Grinder lack some detail imho, but a bit of work and a spot of paint will fix that right up... The grinder is also missing a base, but because it is plastic I do not think the board will suffer much from it. Might still put one under it though...

Now gameplay wise I still need to work out how it all works in game. Probably will not have a chance to play till next week or the week thereafter. Can some of you explain some of the tactics behind it? I read most of the rules, but am looking for some quick pointers on how to play the game. Things like basic setting up the jacks in starting positions, how to best equip them for a learning game etc. This is something I did not see outlined in the booklet it comes with and I do miss that. The finer things of Grind I will learn later on, but some basics to get people started would be nice...

Thanks for any help given

Greetz

You should check out the GRIND section of the PP Forums.

They are amassing some FAQs as well as team builds and plays.

Its in infancy right now, but is a very active board(compared to Dakka's Warmachine section).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I have yet to read the rules. But once I do I plan to Proxy a game using my BloodBowl pitch.

A tip. Heat up the sockets with a hairdryer before assembly.
I saw that mentioned multiple times on the PP board.
Makes pushing everything together tons easier.
