Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

I am working on a pre-heresy Thousand Sons army and I was wondering about how I should do their bases.

I thought about doing them like a temple bases or urban rubble or a combination for the fall of Prospero (their home world).

They have these resin bases:

Which are for a temple which is the theme that I am going for, but I need to match them up for a display board which will be very difficult.

I also thought about painting them faux marble, and getting some plasticard that has square tiles modeled in it, and painting over that.
Are there any good tutorials on painting white marble bases out there?

So what should I do for my bases?

IMO if you are going for a display base for them, you may want to just model them yourself. If you are going for a temple type base you can pick up plaster wedding cake pillars which break nicely and would work for part of your bases and also some thin tiles broken would work well for the marble floors, though there is a whole host of other materials you could use.

Unless you wanted to do a sandstone temple for your display base. something like : http://jackmaryetc.com/Travel/Other/Egypt/images/edfu1.jpg

I suppose you could go with a chess board pattern and add some destroyed pillars and rubble etc.

Some sort of stone floor, covered in dust and bones, would look good - and not too difficult to do a matching display base, you can literally use the same textured plasticard. Some sort of pattern on the stone floor, a 'chess board' as suggested by Flachzange or a mosaic would give extra visual interest.
