Why links to specific articles on the GW website are redirected to 1) the main page, 2) show up as blanks?

This is really annoying.

It's like some "force impulse purchase" scheme...

They may be articles from the website before it was revamped, in which case the articles do not exist any more.

This has happened to me a few times, it may be to do with the country the person who posted the link lives in? i.e. a person in Britain clicking on a link posted by someone from the US.

I would imagine that they want to confirm the country you are in so that prices are in the right currency and release dates are accurate to where you live.

Everything goes to the main page initially, but once you select your country it should take you through to the page that was linked.

If you're getting a blank screen on following a link, it's either a page that's no longer there (although that should come up with a page not found error instead) or it's a browser issue.

I get it because I deleted the GW cookie before my cat could eated it.

But that's only because the GW site is visited mainly to confirm how much money I will save getting their product somewhere else.

I think that i've become accustomed to CONTENT on the site for years. Now it's just a storefront. It's not wrong/weird of GW to do that, it's their buissiness. But, like WD, it used to offer so much more than just pictures and prices.

They've actually been pretty good with the daily blog posts. They haven't had a hell of a lot of content, but they've been pretty good. Posting lots of articles is nice too, even if some are reposts from WD/previous version of the site.

Anyone remember when they had a sneak peak feature? That was cool, and served as my only source of rumors before I came to Dakka.
