I've recently come back to the hobby after a break of about 10 years and still have boxes full of stuff from the Rogue Trader era and beyond.
On of the guys from my local GW store has shown an interest in the bulk of my older stuff. He's prepared to pay a fair price for it, however I haven't a clue what kind of price I should be looking at for it and neither does he really. I've been trying to watch eBay prices for things, but they vary so much it's difficult to get a good fix on what stuff is actually worth.

At the moment (and assuming I can find it all) I'm looking at:
20-30 RTB01 Space Marines, with about 30% still on sprue
1 or maybe 2 original Space Marine Rhinos.
1 original Predator
1 original Land Raider
1 original lead land speeder with RTB01 style crew
1 original lead bike
1 or 2 Jetbikes with crew
Upto about 50 lead marines & guard as well as a few original xenos (original tyranids etc) - all from 1985 to about 1999

Most are assembled or part assembled and most are painted very poorly.

What do you guys think would be a fair price for that kinda haul?

It's worth what someone will pay for it.

Unlike cars or comics, there's no reliable secondhand pricing for GW figures, as you've noticed (on eBay, etc.)

All the stuff I've sold has gone for between 40 and 100% of what it would cost retail if it wasn't OOP. Meaning, if a modern figure costs £2.50, the OOP figure would go for between £1 and £2.50.

To maximize your price on eBay, watch auctions for similar lots to what you want to sell, and if one finishes with a high price, and a close second bidder, offer your stuff on Buy It Now to the loser.

IMO if the chap at the shop is offering a fair price, you would save a lot of time and trouble by selling it to him.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

All good advice, thanks. I'm definitely giving the guy in the shop first dibs on it, it might be my old cast offs but I'd still far rather it went to a good home where it'll be appriciated.

If the Predator and the Land Raider are still on the sprue, then they are gold. Ebay right now is $75-$100US for the Predator and $150-$200US for the Land Raider.

It's worth my first born son. I would love all that old stuff. RT era stuff fetches a load of money on eBay, and sometimes here on Dakka. There are some real nostalgia junkies out there, or just people who appreciate old models.

The Land Raider is probably the most valuable single item, the Tyranids intrigue me. Some of the early Xenos stuff was released for very short periods making it incredibly valuable now, it really depends on specifically what you have.
