I needed a Big Mek for my lootas for both fluffy reasons, and because it kills me to have a unit with ld7 and no bosspole.
So here's my Big Mek made from a Black Reach nob and the mek bits from the loota kit. Did a little greenstuff filling on the joint of the supporting arm, but otherwise it's all plastic. He's armed with a kustom mega blasta and a bosspole.

Its a nice simple and well painted conversion but it seems to me just more like a normal mek boy then a big mek... This also might be just cause it looks really similar to the mek boy from the lootas/burnas box but it does look good!

I would echo Buttlertheplug's comments - wicked job on the painting/modelling, but he just looks like a slightly bigger mekboy. Also, if you're putting him with your Lootas, how comes you didn't make a Kustom Force Field while you had your convertin' hat on?

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

Nice look, I like the use of the AOBR nob creating a bigger Big Mek for a leader.

I didn't give him a KFF because I just wanted to keep him super cheap, while still being useful as a bosspole and another member of the squad. Besides, why wouldn't my lootas be in cover in the first place?

Thanks for the comments everybody. I agree that he looks like a slightly bigger mek, but that was really what I was going for. I like the idea of lower-level leaders, especially for games of Combat Patrol.

Personally, I find the comments that your Big Mek looks like a slightly bigger Mek to be amusing...

I do find it odd to see someone taking a Big Mek with neither a KFF or SAG however, especially as those would both be fun things to build and convert up.

If you look at his stats he's just a nob, really, so I find the comments on his stature pretty amusing too.

As said, I was going for a cheaper HQ, game-wise, so I didn't spend the points to give him any of the really cool or expensive wargear. Besides, if he had a SAG I wouldn't want him around my lootas - Murphy's Law dictates that they'd teleport into the enemy or envelop themselves in a black hole.

So Murphy was an Ork? That would explain a lot.
