So, a friend and I have been working on a rebalanced Warhammer, making it a bit more fair and going a bit off the fluff, adding some weapons and that. Well, right now we don't have much other than Warriors, Gaunts, Space Marine Captain and Scouts worked out, but we wanted to see if Warriors or the Scouts were underpriced or overpowered. So, here were the army lists:

My Friend
Warrior Brood-100 points
1 Warrior
-Scything Talons, Barbed Strangler, Toxin Sacs, Acid Blood, Wings, Leaping, Extended Carapace and Hardened Exoskeleton

Me:
Scout Squad-100 points
3 Scouts(2 Scouts, 1 Sergeant)
-Chainsword and Bolt Pistols, 2 Frag Grenade Packs and 1 Blind Grenade Pack

Turn 1
Me
I get the initiative, and move my Scouts forward, and then run.

Him
He moves forward, opens fire with Barbed Strangler. All saved.

Turn 2
Me
I move forward, throw grenades. All miss.

Him
Moves a little, fires again. 1 wound on a Scout and on the Sarge. Charges. No Wounds on either.

Turn 3-End
He begins killing off my Scouts, one at a time, while I continue to cause no wounds. At the end, I lose, and his Warrior has no damage done to it.

Thoughts
Well, right after this, I doubled the Warriors points. It was really powerful, while the Scouts...well, the Scouts didn't do much. And by that, I mean, they did nothing. They have a fair amount of points, maybe I should have taken two Bolters with my regular Scouts and taken Hellfire Rounds.

i am so confused it is not even funny. Also i dont think these sort of tests work, and well what is the base point cost for things, are scouts 25 points a piece? Why did you throw grenades? Ok the warrior has more upgrades than he might ever need. One on one tests don't measure the ability for combinations, a lash prince is ok by himself (gives great charge range with wings), but with obliterators it becomes broken.
30 tac marines against a Lemun russ demolisher, it moves 6+d6 and fires its main cannon, you hit on sixs (if you catch it) glance on 5s, penetrate on 6s. So obviously it must be worth more...

O H I am in the Webway...

I'm also horribly confused.

You might want to explain how you have "re-balanced" warhamms and your home-made rules because we have no idea what they are...

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you

We mostly just remanaged some of the stats, and added some wargear. Like acid blood, for an example, causes a wound to the attacker when the model with Acid Blood receives a unsaved wound in combat.

Grenades we changed a bit, to where you throw them, like frag grenades, which can hurt some enemies, or blind grenades, which cause the unit(s) affected to reroll to hit rolls.

So you're not rebalancing anything but introducing selfmade rules. Already the builds of these units are illegal by the official codices and there are reasons for that... please, bring these units in a 1500 pts game against a standard codex, I'd be so happy to blast away such units with any army!
(no offense is intended, but i really doubt this has to do anything with actual 40k)

Hopping on the pain wagon

Yeah, really more of a re-imagining. Not that there is anything wrong with that. If you guys want to do small scale skirmish style games (which it kind of seems like with the point costing you have, you might want to take a look at necromunda and just tweak those rules a bit.
