Can we have a thread on a process on waht to do if dakka is attacked again?

Its being dealt with, if you look at Wholesales profile page, then your see that most of his threads have been locked and deleted.

The usual procedure is to post a user Alert.

The next Mod on line will lock the spam thread, ban the spambot and apply for an IP ban.

If the spam thread is a new one it will be deleted. If it is a message inserted into an existing thread, just that post will be deleted.

Alpharius and I have just been locking down this "Wholesale" spambot. We are keeping its posts for a bit to allow forensic examination of the way it got into the site.

And Dakka was safe again.

wholesale was banned until 2016. haha.

I was there pretty much when it first hit the site, so I wiped it from the SwapShop immediately.

I don't think a 'process' is needed, just ignore the spambot topics, and go about your daily posting lives. Don't bother spamming in the threads.

Must've hit the SwapShop multiple times, cause I had to clear it once as well.

I too seem to remember some of the worse spambots on the forum, or at least the aftermath.
