The D6G team tackles the new board game Grind from Privateer Press. How exactly do massive steam jacks play sports? Now we know.
But before that, we chat with friend of the show Norbert about his group's latest charity efforts. And we finally get around to listening to our voice mail box with some listener feedback.
And don't miss our new regular segment, "Total Fan Girl." Nicole chats with Sherry Yeary, the president of Privateer Press about her job, and what it's like to be the biggest pirate of the bunch.
All that and our usual 'not too horrible' humor, with features such as:
- The Hollywood Minute
- Rapid Fire
- What's in the News
- & More
I'm only up to the itunes reviews so far (c'mon, my commute is only half an hour...), but luvvin it as usual. Guys, please, please, please continue to keep it long! I'm usually good for nearly a week of commuting on one show. Long may that continue. Those ejits with short attentiion spans who can't handle the full 4 hour experience just need to man up, strap it on and deal with it!

P.S. any chance we can get that as a separate download?
Howdy Karrella,
Glad you enjoyed the song. We actually recorded the song last year. I just put it on at the end again because the holidays approach. If you'd like an MP3 of just the song:
Since it has been added to the lexicon of the show, we need a McNerdigan's Pub pint-glass. (Geekly's doesn't work as well...sorry, HD)
While I'll miss When Wives Attack, I'm interested to see where Total Fan Girl goes. (I have to spell it out, due to Nicole being a much better person than TFG.)
And only two entrants for the Black Library contest? Heck, I might have a chance with those kind of odds. I was just expecting it to be the typical radio show "Caller Number [insert perinent number, in the case of the D6G - 6] will win..." Maybe us curmudgeons will have a chance at this one as well. I'll definitely be paying better attention to the web page and such. I'm still holding out on not joining Twitter. If Russ plays Le Harve, Agricola, and a third as of yet undisclosed, Hollywood chosen Eurogame; then I'll subscribe to Twitter.
As for gamer charity (I always have to be careful tossing the 'c' word about, as my very mercenary wife is named Charity. She tends to think all things for charity are for her.), my FLGS is not only hosting a Foodmachine event but a Tanksgiving (Imperium versus everyone else, Forge World - Super Heavy friendly) event as well. There's a friendly rivalry between the Warmachine and 40K players on who is going to supply the most food.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Thanks for posting the video. I needed a good laugh, and it delivered.

Thanks, Armand. I like McNerdigan's too. It was Russ who calls it "Geekly's", which is fine, but makes me wonder how many pieces of flare I'm supposed to have on when I go down there to play.
That's awesome that your local store is doing both 'help-the-less-fortunate' events (see what I did there?)! You'll have to let us know who delivered with the most goods. And, of course, for HD, how many cans of peas were involved.

In response to the caller voicemail on modern-ish gaming, try anything from the publisher Ambush Alley or for Vietnam, FNG! from Two Hour Wargames. I applaud Two Hour Wargames for designing and implementing a very "innovative" mechanic. Check it out!
Keep up the good work and love the long shows. You can paint a lot of 15mm Soviets in four hours.

Much as it pains me to admit it, there's a growing thread of discussion on our Facebook page about the various options for Modern Miniatures Combat. Ambush Alley seems to be leading the way.
Damn Russ and his new paradigm!

Grind has been added to my Christmas list - likely in vain as no one spends that much on me :-(
Sadly, we were moving my Mom this past week so I had a ton of back and forth driving to do and the episode only lasted me two days! Now I am D6-less until the next episode! What to do?

The imagery that has been evoked in my head...I'll have to resist the urge not to model a couple of my fresh of the sprue Space Wolves pulling a sledge of game boxes for a joke only I will get. What a world.
Craig, resist the urge to jump on Firestorm Armada. Spartan games is one of those companies you have to let "settle" before you start going whole hog on their games. You pointed it out perfectly in this episode of "Did You Ever Notice?"
I too have fleets in dry dock only in want of an opponent. (And a ruleset that doesn't change everytime a spastic gamer farts.)
Hang tough and wait for the Malifaux resurgence!!

All true, but Spartan's miniatures are really nice!
On the topic of modern gaming, there's also Cold War Commander, which lets you play larger scope games using a variation of GW's Warmaster and 6-20mm scale games. Really nice!
I liked the show a lot. Always gets me laughing very hard and quite informative.
