Subject: Can you highlight Purple without it turning pink?
I have only painted purple once, and that was on fabric. I used bleached bone+liche purple for the highlights on liche purple, and that gave it a really good cloth-like feel. For armor I might do the same thing but maybe add a little white or a little gloss to make it look shiner rather than lighter.
Actually yes you can with several ways. You can look at my blog link on the bottom of this post to see one way, but also you can start darker and only go up to a flat purple. If you wanted it to show out a little lighter then just go one to two layers past purple with white mixed in by the drop.
Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I like to highlight my purples with a light blue, for a cool effect, or a light red, for a warmer effect, all though this often turns to pink, so I'd play it safe with blue
